  • The "Dream Concert" game!

I'm looking forward to seeing some shows this upcoming summer concert season, and it got me thinking,"What would be the ultimate concert for me?"

The rules are simple. You can pick up to 3 bands (2 openers and a headliner or an opener and headliner) for what would be YOUR dream concert. They can be new bands, local bands, dead bands, broken up bands, anything. It can be as weird as a mix as you wish, like Marilyn Manson opening for Johnny Cash. Even throw in a venue if you want. I'll start!

    1st act: Oasis
    2nd act: Nine Inch Nails
    Headliner: David Bowie
    Venue: Red Rocks

    I'll give this a try ,warmup-Van Halen
next on the lineup would be Rush
headlining would be no-other than Led Zeppelin.
If I could add another act Kiss would open

But the first 3 could change tomorrow.

This is a whacky mix for you:

      Opening Act: Cheap Trick

      Second Act: Garth Brooks

      Headliner: U2

All 3 of those were a few of my most favorite bands live. I could really come up with some doosies.

And yes Mastershake.... I would choose Red Rocks too.

I'd got to this show! They could call it The Sunday Sunday Thunder Rolls Tour! New rule, make up a name for the concert if you want!

aquabats-best live show i've ever been to. hilarious band, lots of fun. they threw small children into the crowd!

nofx-love the band, and have never seen them live. put them on here because i really hope to see them before they quit touring someday.

fugazi-most awesomest. not even sure if they "tour" anymore. i think they still play shows, but none of them are near colorado. my favorite band.

at the gothic i guess- small, but room for plenty of people to have a good crowd.

Oh wow this is freakin tough.

            Headliner: Cannibal Corpse
            2nd opener: Pantera
            3rd: Mudvayne

The second opener could change. but cannibal corpse and mudvayne would for sure be there.

I can't choose between Slayer and Pantera. but I choose Pantera because everybody in slayer is still alive and together so i could see them at another show.

venue i would pick the shrine auditorium in billings. It's a pretty crappy venue, but it's small enough that it seems really personal and your up close with the band but it's big enough you can fit alot of people in it.
            the space that is mine

We miss 'ya brother dime. We know your up there jamming with Cliff and Chuck. Stay metal :salute:

              1st act: Apartment

British 4-piece who I've followed around London for a year...they're a reallly underrated act and David's voice is amazing. Great album this year. Live...they are incredibly tight, polished and energetic. A worthy opener.

              www.myspace.com/apartment

              2nd Act: Pure Reason Revolution

UK 5-piece new prog band who combine Pink Floyd with RATM/Smashing Pumpkin riffs and perfect 3-part harmonies. Usually in the same song. Spacey synth effects and violins included. My favourite band of last year.

              http://www.myspace.com/purereasonrevolution

Headliner: Muse (on the condition that they play more old stuff than new stuff :p)

Basically the best live band I've ever seen. Admittedly they lost a little bit on their last tour but they're still the best. The energy in their shows is unparalleled. Loudest 3-piece on the planet

Venue: Shepherd's Bush Empire, London. A 1,500 person venue, intimate with great acoustics. Some of my best gig memories have been there

                Opener: Jason Aldean
                2nd Act: Kenny Chesney
                Headliner: Garth Brooks.

Venue: Pepsi Center since that is the only place I have ever seen a concert.

LA Guns and Junkyard?? I haven't heard anybody mention them in a very long time. Very cool.

Shania Twain's last tour was called "Up" so maybe she could be the opening act for Ozzy Ozbourne and they could call the tour "Up Yours Batman"
