  • music genre's?

Wasn't sure how to post this but was hoping someone here could help me out.

I heard this song on AM radio the other day. It was called "Spanish Fly". I wanted to download it, the only problem is there are like 800 songs called Spanish Fly and I don't know who composed it.

I thought I would look for the genre first. I just don't know what that genre is.

The song had no lyrics. It was like a band song, and the thing that stood out to me was the awesome trumpet part. It was like a song a high school band would play, but much more difficult.

Anyone know what genre the music is when there's no lyrics, trumpets, saxophones, etcetcetc? I was thinking maybe Big Band but not sure.

I probably won't get any help here, but I had to try. Mega props to anyone that can help. I would be greatly appreciated. I don't even know how to begin to look for this song.

try looking for "spanish fly" by either the atomic fireballs or muckafurgason

let me know if either of those songs is the one you're looking for.

if it was big band with like a little bit of lyrics with one guy singing, and the rest of the band kind of chants "spanish fly" then it's by the atomic fireballs album torch this place.

if there's no lyrics at all and it's more of a jazzy song with a bass-line and drums and somewhat mellow, then look for Keef Hartley's album Not Foolish Not Wise.

i was wrong about Muchaferguson, so ignore that name.

No lyrics whatsoever, it was purely instrumental.

It would be an equivalent to what someone would play at a high school orchestra concerrt, but with mainly brass instruments.

Thanks for trying to help though.

search for the one by keef hartley.

the trumpets have a kind of 'fluttery' part, follwed by a kind of stairstep up and down the scale.

            dee, deedle dee, dee, deedledee

i think there's a good chance it's your song and that my description is throwing you off. i don' tlisten to music like this, and i don't know how to describe it. it definitley sounds like something that would be on AM radio though.

i'm out for tonight, but look into it, i hope it's the song you're looking for, let me know

              I'll try it, thanks.

              EDIT: Tried it.

It's not it, but it's a good song. It is however, definetely that kind of music though. The trumputs are alot quicker and have more of a stacato sound to them on the one I'm thinking of.
