Shrek came out in 2001 and those newer ones you liked might be Princess and the Frog or Tangled.

Tangled is so awesome. I love the little punch lines, and the horse is an awesome character.

For me it's gotta be Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Darkest Disney Film, Great Characters and a fantastic soundtrack.

Vastly underrated mainly as it came after Lion King, Aladdin etc.

I just watched that one for the first time a few days ago. Personally, I think it's ok. Esmeralda is a great character though.
