  • Downloading Music

I started a thread some time ago, but I wanted to start a newer one.

Where do you guys download your music?

I know all about the P2P programs such as Limewire, Kazza, etc.

I know that for most of the time, it is illegal, but yet everyone keeps downloading songs.

I have friends at school that do the same thing... Hey man, I DL a new song and didn't get caught... quit worrying.

Well I do worry, because everytime I open up a P2P program and search for a song I want I stall...

So what is the deal? Do you or don't you get caught. I know people get caught but is it because of "Sharing" music or "Downloading"? Or is it something else?

    Know any free LEGAL sites?

if you get caught, its because your a total idiot, personally, i only use cd players, not that i can't afford a mp3 player or whatever, its just that most of the songs i listen to are not downloadable.

But my cousin downloads music illegaly all the time....go for it (he uses limewire) unless you are a millionaire and want to pay a $1 for every song

Torrents are most definitely safer to download then using limewire.

With limewire you pretty much trust it being legit just by the title but with torrents you can read comments from other downloaders and see if its safe to download.

Just remember, torrents take a lot longer to download.

The law enforcements don't try and catch the downloaders, they go after the people that are sharing large amounts of stuff.

Since you seem to have a lot of CP, many people like what you post.

But for that last part, do you have any proof of it?

I've heard it from people and have read it from sites but other than that not much proof.

If they were to catch people downloading the music then they'd might as well arrest 80% of the USA.

I've been downloading mp3's since I was in HS, so for 7 years now and have never been caught. It's going to happen and people illegally downloading music won't get caught because there's just too much of it going on.

I started using Napster, then moved to Kazaa, then Limewire, now I use Frostwire if I just want to find a single song.
But typically I use uTorrent bit torrent software.

I used to use torrents, but they took too long and I'm impatient. I use a site now that allows you to download entire CD's. I'm not sure how legal it is, but it's fast and it has pretty much everything.

im not allowed to use P2Ps on the family computer cause they can get to stuff that u might not want them to see through a p2p program so i use itunes as do a bunch of my friends and we just email songs to each other and burn cds for each other works out nicely i guess
