As far as I know of there won't be an alien king. but most likely we will see a predalien. for those who haven't played the aliens vs predator games it an alien that use a predator for a host.

The first one was hilarious. I went in expecting crap, and got a whole lot of laughs because of how bad/cheesy it was. Although I got a free ticket for buying the Predator DVD and would not have wanted to actually pay for it. Unfortunately it was far too rushed. With both series, they teased the audience for a while before actually showing the Alien or Pred. This one jumped straight in and didn't deliver. If AVP2 is given more time and an R rating, I'll go in with higher expectations than the first, but I'm not gonna expect a classic like the original movies.

Agreed. AVP was absolutely sickening, especially when the humans and Predators started working as a tag team. I hear in AVP 2 they're going to bring out an "Alien King", which will tarnesh the series even more.

Movies like AVP don't deserve to be associated with the original Alien and Predator franchises, which is why I ignore the whole "Mayan Saga". The Alien series ended for me after "Aliens" and the Predator series ended after the first one.

the Strause brothers posted on IMDB that their sorting out which trailers to use. They also will be a green band and a red band trailers which they hope they can get both up next week. at the end of the greed-band trailer they will a web-address that will lead to the red band trailer.

    info from AvPGalaxy

    Some info:

Green-band trailers are one that most of us see in theaters. Has restrictions on what can be shown on the trailer.

Red-band trailers are mostly online since they red-band have fewer restrictions on what can be shown on them.

AVP was for me decent but I did wish it wasn't directed and scripted by Pual W. Anderson.

Alien 4 could have been really good but they screwed with the original screenplay causing the author to disown it, although I thought it was entertaining if nothing special.

The Two Predator movies were sweet.
I loved the first one but Predator 2 was a piece of crap. I wanted my money back after watching that one.

The Alien vs Predator Comics rocked.
I don't know about the comics but I did really enjoy the first book, although I didn't read the follow-up.

However, the Alien vs Predator movie blew.
I do agree with you on that one... mostly. I didn't think it was completely lacking of redeeming features but I did feel it was very forced and it felt quite incomplete and restrained.

While I don't mind a movie being PG-13 by any means, the fact that all the Alien and Predator movies were all Rated R makes me question why they felt the need to try to expand the audience just a smidge by slapping constraints on themselves. The whole time I watched the movie I felt like they were holding themselves back from a cinematic perspective.

Oh, well. I'll probably still give AvP 2 a chance and see if it improves over the first one.

I liked AVP and would love to see AVP 2. I prefer Predator over Alien. Haven't seen all of the Alien movies and Predator 2 didn't impress me too much.

Yeah, I can't wait for the movie just to see how much Greg and Collin Strauss as directors improve over what Paul W. S. Anderson. I am some peeved that it couldn't be a space story but if it had to be on earth glad they picked a town in Colorado .

The AVP storyline is based on another planet. The Re-hashed Movie Storyline is based on earth. (I didn't know I had to specify I was talking about the real story, thought it was implied with the elephant aliens and the way it was a reply to the quote..)

People don't realize there is really no connection between alien movies and predator movies other than the Alien skull in P2. None of the Predators or Alien Colonies took part in the AVP storyline. Just the same species.

They tried to hollywood up a good story too much. People love AVP because they love Cool-ass Aliens kicking the crap out of eachother, with some humans running around getting bashed in the middle.
