I thought the first one was so/so. I'm sure I will watch the second one when it comes on DVD, but I am not expecting much.

I may see it on DVD, or maybe on tv in a few years. But the opening of the review it got on the Rocky Mountain News says it all:

        Linky

The filmmakers behind all these comic-book adaptations always insist they won't come back for more unless the sequels can top the originals. The Fantastic Four gang has managed to outdo itself the second time around - and still make a bad movie.

I talked to a friend of mine who saw the second movie and

              (SPOILER ALERT)

It turns out that Galactus is not even on the screen during the movie, he is only referred to. Not to go comic book nerd on anyone, but you can't have a movie with the Silver Surfer in it without having Galactus in it. It just doesn't make any damn sense.

Besides, Silver Surfer is so damn badass, he needs a movie by himself, but that's another discussion for another time.

I saw the movie. Galactus is in it. I HATED the first one, but this one was pretty decent. Galactus as we know him (Purple Helmet Giant Robot Planet Eater) is represented as he is in the Marvel Ultimate Universe as a giant cloud. I thought I would hate it, but it actually looks really cool. In the end you can make out a shillouette of him in the cloud I think. It was hard to see.The Surfer was extremely well done and saves the whole movie IMO. The Thing and Torch are also well done this time around. It felt a lot more like the comic.
