  • NEW SONG with GUITAR SOLO

Okay folks, this will be my last for awhile, since I'm moving
Monday (I record my music at my guitar teacher's studio on
a Mac, with ProTools). As soon as I get an M-box, and Drumkit
From Hell (drum software that's absolutely KILLER!), I'll be putting
    LOADS of la musica.

Anyways, this song is the same as my last except for the fact that we
tracked a guitar solo today. There's one sloppy part near the middle, but
it was all improv, and I really like a few of the licks that I probably couldn't
have played the same way twice.

    Go Huskers.

That's nice Nick, thanks for sharing it with us. I think I can help you with something you're missing:
Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
    Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
    Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.
    Keep sharing!

I go to Helena about 2 times each year. I was born in
Billings, and nearly all my family lives there.

              Sounds good.

It drives me nuts when we jam and come up with something really awesome...but then try to play it again and lose it!

              Grrrrr!!!!!

My drummer has a hell of a time with that double bass pedal.
He has seizures when we try to get him to use it, lol.

This makes me wanna post stuff now too.

I wanna re-do "Anethesia (sp) Pulling" just for the hell of it.

              Anyhoo- Good job! It rocks!

It seems that a lot of drummers now keep time with their feet and not ther right hand.
I'm not a drummer, so I don't know if that even sounded right.

                  He's old school.

He grew up watching RUSH and Metallica and that stuff.

Not to say that the whole double bass thing is bad, but if you were raised doing a different style, then yeah....

                  Old dog, new trick thing?

                  I dunno...I play bass.

it does sometimes depending on the speed of the song. and other times its just their cause it sounds cool. like meshuggahs thomas haake in alot of meshuggah's songs (new millennium cyanide christ as an example) the guitars are playing pretty fast riffs, while the drums are wicked slow (in the verses anyways), and other songs its the opposite. why? i dunno, but it sounds cool
