I don't see too many average hitters at any position knocking out 30 HRs and 100 RBIs on a consistent basis from season to season.
Not many "average" players are awarded a league MVP.

Can I take a moment to point out that Boston's firstbaseman is not named Kevin Youkilis?

Lol. One thing that bugs me about the Chi Sox is that after the Red Sox won the WS in 04 we gave him a honorary ring. In 05 they copycat us and also give him one.

That is extremely Average for a First Baseman a position known for it's power and if you can't see that then Im sorry you know nothing about Baseball.

And to anyone posting on here and sticking you nose in another conversation you should know the year the player won the Most Valuable Player Award if your going to stick up for him.

Can you show me where I said Kevin Youkilis is the best First baseman in the Majors ? Oh yeah you can't because I never did ...

South thank you for having my Back and like you said fans who are honest about anyother team is Hating ... Whatever

I'm an Ohio transplant in Colorado now. So, my view, Morneau (at least prior to the unfortunate injury) is definitely an upper tier first-bagger in MLB. He is well above an average hitter. Hopefully, he can continue to be that type of player.
