Also, who is replacing him? I would hope it would be Buchholz.

Doubt it's Buchholz. I would guess Tavarz. They need a deep pen when they have the pitcher hitting at Coors.

BTW, it's a shoulder injury for Wake. I'm also hearing Ellsbury will start game 1 as Coco's knees are hurtin' after he made the great catch to end the ALCS.

Yeah, Taveras makes sense too. Sucks that you can only have 25 guys.

          • Ryan Spilborghs will bat 9th for the Rockies tonight and be their DH. I just looked up his numbers and they're not too bad - nearly .300 avg, about 11 HR's and 50 RBI's in 265 AB's.

            Not too shabby.

            Just one question

            Who is Ryan Spilborghs?

              • Classiest thing I have ever witnessed

They announced the Rockies players, some boo's some cheers.

But, when they said the team name......"Rockies"

Very few boo's, the response was more like a sincere appreciation, a kindred spirit for this group of kids.

Thank you so much, I will carry that moment for the rest of my life.

Good luck to you, God bless the fans in Boston.

                • I was thinking today and talked wit ha few people. If Beckett is able to put together a few more just unbalivable post seasons he will move up on that list. (Not like he is not a great post season pitcher already) What list is that you may say?

When you start talking about that one pitcher you want to pitch on post season game, who will you say? Ruth, Johnson. Cofax, Clemens, etc... Beckett will become that guy people will talk about in that way IMO.

Spilborgs broke into the line up actually in interleague play. Against Baltimore he had a 7 RBI game as a DH. He already took over the PH position and played his way out of Triple-A. Spilly had a lot of big hits late in games this year and got most of the starts in CF after Willy went out.

I have been a follower of Pedrioa all year, will be at 2nd for a long time for the Sox.

                  • Hopefully Schilling goes out there tonight and pitches like he did in game 6, if not a little better. If we can take this win tonight, this series will be all but over IMO. We don't need to let the Rockies start up any new momentum.

                    • All Boston has to do is just win thier home games.
                      Seems pretty easy.

Go 4-0 at home and your champs.
Who cares what happens in Colorado.
Now hopefully the Rockies can steal a road game.

Or we could just win 2 at our place, 2 at their place, and be done with it!

                          But thats too Easy
Dont you want to sweat it out?

I always remember the 2001 World Series.
The Home team won every game and the D-backs won in 7
                          That was a great series.
Bun Yun(sp) Kim was like Gagne in that series.
Gave up game tying 2 out 2 run homers in 2 straight games.

But that series was great stuff even though we lost.

Hell no I don't want to sweat it out. A perfect World Series for me would be for games 2, 3, and 4 to turn out just like game 1 did!

                            • I always say I want it to go 7 and have someone hit a walkoff HR. Thats if the Yankees are in it. But then once the game is on I just want a blowout. I'm use to the stress though
