Not a bad idea, assuming it isn't Doc Gooden .

Nothing wrong with exhausting every possibility other than surgery.

      • Dang, this thread has been deader than A-Rod's bat in the playoffs!

Heat it up with Soso Crisp's trade talk.

What do you think about Schilling's situation? Tough call when the doctors don't agree.

          • Yeah, it's a tough situation with Schilling. He loves to play baseball though and I can't blame him for making the decision that he made. I'm no doctor (and I don't play one on TV) so there isn't much I can say on the situation but I hope it works out for the best.

As for Coco, eh, it is what it is.

Agreed. Not much Schilling can do but cross his fingers. I don't wish injury on anyone.

              • Hey just heard the Sox signed their Manager through the next 3 years, with a 2 yr. club option.

They said he has the 2nd highest winning % in Boston history! Not too shabby!

                • The Red Sox will travel to The White House today where they will be honored for winning the 2007 World Series.

After they meet with President Bush they will all go to Walter Reed Army Medical Center and meet with wounded soldiers.

They did the same thing when they visited the White House in early 2005 and it was the highlight of their trip.

Lots of bad karma this week for the Red Sox.

The Beantowners visited the White House on Wednesday before taking a side trip to visit wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Medical Center. Manny Ramirez and Julian Tavarez blew off the visit. Classy move there.

Nice of you to judge them without even knowing why they didn't make the trip! Very classy!

Manny can do no wrong. I'm sure there was a great excuse. He was probably busy curing cancer or building a time machine. Visiting wounded soldiers at Reed Medical Center simply wasn't on his "to do" list.

I wont be too hard on ya, being a Spankee fan and all, but Manny just do what he wants ALL THE TIME, that aint nothing new exactly, but I cant forgive ANYONE for not visiting the SOLDIERS! Those are the boys who make it POSSIBLE for all our sorry as#es to even playor enjoy sports in the first place!!!

Yeah, that was my only complaint. Passing on the White House visit isn't something I'd do, but I don't object to it, either.

I love the fact that Jason Elam has been visiting troops in Iraq. I'd think it was the least any pro athlete could do to take a scheduled team trip to visit wounded soldiers in the hospital. Kudos to the members of the red sox that made the trip... very classy gesture. I understand the Patriots were the first championship team to visit the Walter Reed Medical Center, and it's a great tradition.

Where did I defend him? We are just barely into spring training and you're already putting words in my mouth. You're in mid-season form already!

I never defended him though, I merely said that it's wrong to judge someone when you have no idea what the facts are. Of course you bash Manny for any and everything. He could save a child from a burning building and you would accuse him of starting the fire.
