Time for some hot stove talk....

While I am hoping that we resign Jacoby Ellsburry I wonder if his agent will make it impossable. Scott Boras is not known for making it easy when it comes to resigning players. If it comes down to giving him insane Carl Crawford/Adrian Gonzales money I would rather have players like we had this year in Mike Napoli, Shane Victorino and the rest.

The Boston Red Sox are just one win away from winning our third World Seris in past 10 years. The series moves back to Boston for the final two games.

If we do pull this off I see Papi being named MVP!

Here is a link to a pretty good, IMO, article from yahoo explaining the call:

    OBSTRUCTION RULE
The rule applied to the final play of Game 3 can be found in the Official Rules of Major League Baseball, Section 2.00, Definition of Terms:

"Obstruction is the act of a fielder who, while not in possession of the ball and not in the act of fielding the ball, impedes the progress of any runner.

"Rule 2.00 (Obstruction) Comment: ... After a fielder has made an attempt to field a ball and missed, he can no longer be in the act of fielding the ball. For example, an infielder dives at a ground ball and the ball passes him and he continues to lie on the ground and delays the progress of the runner, he very likely has obstructed the runner."

Jim Joyce has now blown a perfect game and a World Series game.

Hopefully Bucholz pitches a gem in game 4.
Read the rule. It was the correct call.

Unfortunate? Absolutely. But the right call? Absolutely.
