I see some talk about FF this year, so I thought I'd open up this new thread for the year. As you probably have seen, our league is officially open.
We have lost Rod, which is unfortunate, and therefore we need at least one more player. As long as everyone stays. I have one member who seems interested, and will let me know at some point.
Two folks have advised me that they will likely not take part if we go PPR in any form, or implement a Keeper into the process.
My thoughts are as follows:
1) I even suggested a half point PPR league, but that's enough for me. I am in a full point PPR league, which I like, but I have argued that it seems a little unrealistic to reward Receivers for a full point, even if they make no gain....or get a partial point for losing up to 10 yards. That's just me. Overall, I would much rather we stay with the non PPR format especially if it means we might lose someone.
2) I have stronger feelings about implementing a Keeper into the system. Because we did not vote on it during the season, it is unfair to expect owners to buy in if they did not have really good players, whether it be due to being late to select, or otherwise. For me, a Keeper needs to be approved during the previous season, when we all know what we have. For example, what if an owner made a late trade of a quality player to acquire a couple of good players? Had there been a Keeper approved for the following season, they probably don't make that deal. So, because I believe it needs to be agreed to during the season prior to implementation, plus one or more will not sign up if we push it through, I am adamant that we let it be until we draft our teams....and wait a while til folks have a chance to think about it. Perhaps vote on it by mid season.
Opinions?
Also, if you know of anyone who would like to join, it would be beneficial to know, as we may need one or more folks. Always smart to have a wait list.
