I am always impressed with good sportsmanship. Winning should not be everything, not if you did everything you could, and you played by the rules.
We have a real rivalry with The US, especially in men's/women's hockey. But it was so nice to see Poulin and Knight, the respective women's hockey captains share a nice hug and comments after Canada won the gold, They are friends from all the years of competition, and it looked very genuine. Same with the bronze curling game, with Gushue over Shuster. You get a sense that Shuster's team knows all the good Canadian teams, as he plays so many events here. There is definitely comradery and that is a great thing!
Jennifer Jones from my home town is one of the best (if not the best) curler in women's history, and she seemed like a very serious person, even a little less friendly perhaps from afar. But maybe being a mom has changed her, or maybe she was always nice, as she hugged the Japanese players tight and talked to them while doing so. Like a good mentor would do. She is a great curler, and is a lawyer as well. Very smart and skilled. Never count her out.

They seem to hold a lot of them in Canada, so I am hoping you have been able to see them. Canucks love curling and if you have the average tv channels here you are likely to have been able to watch any of the curling going way back.Comment
