But one season out of 8 isn't something to claim greatness on, nor can you excuse the previous seasons leading up to it, and what happened last year and what's happening so far this season.
It would be if the the name of the team was; New Orleans, Detroit, and/or Cleveland, RAHR!

Definition of Insanity, same thing over & over, expecting different results.

Of Buffalo, NY Jets, Dolphins, Jacksonville, Houston, Cincinnati, Kansas City, San Diego,...

        And that's just the AFC.

        • mojo.. if you are a "what have you done for me lately" kind of guy.. then why aren't judging Shanahan on his drafting the last three drafts? They have been very good. Why do you insist on going back further?

I don't think YOU Know what you want. I've read all your 'needs and wants.'

You want this team to succeed.. NOW. You don't think we've 'good enough' success despite losing so much talent from the SB years. You don't think a team should have adequate time to find the talent that EVERY team is trying to find and aquire. We SHOULD have gotten it in this LOonnnnng Eight years!!

But you can't make up your mind. You have stated that Shanahan's regular season wins don't matter to you, that its only the playoff wins that count. Yet, you stated in another thread that you are having second guesses about starting Cutler, because you want to win NOW. Funny, because Jake's playoff record is NOT stellar. Yet his playoff record was fine with you, while Shanahan's wasn't.

You want to win NOW... yet... I show you that Shanahan has won more games than anyone that doesn't have a franchise QB. If THAT isn't working for you.. how about the fact that any team that has kept their ONE coach after losing a franchise QB has won 15-20% MORE regular season games, and has gone to TWICE as many playoff appearances??? That STILL doesn't show you anything. You STILL think we would be better off following the path of the other teams that have gone through 4-5 coaches, and suffered through the REALLY rough times.

I find it interesting, that if you are complaining that we average 9.5 wins a season over the last eight years, just how much would you be CRYING if we had to suffer through the 4-12, 5-11 and 6-10 years that so many of the other teams have had to endure while THEY finally tried to find the right coach and right QB. YOu would be TEARING in your soup and calling for the head of EVERY coach.

You don't be very consistent in your complaints. You want to win NOW.. but think we should have kept the QB that couldn't win what YOU want to win.. NOW.

The problem is.... Shanahan and the Broncos have given you more than any other team has been able to... yet you want MORE. Do you see where your expectations lie? I think you just heard something on the radio.. and want to believe it. Just like you heard the "rumor" that Bowlen wanted to take Shanahan's GM job away. You'll believe anything that backs YOU up, but call everyone else "blind fans with orange glasses on" that don't believe or follow your illogic.

          • Well, this thread has apparently merged into my original thread on the subject, and I stated I would no longer be replying here.

I didn't mean to repeat my same comments on two separate threads. So I apologize. This is becoming a sore subject with me.

No promises on future comments or threads regarding Shanahan, but I won't be posting here anymore now that these threads are one.

            Have fun debating!

After following this thread in a most abbreviated manner I think Mojo just wants to complain about not having more Lombardi's sitting in the case at Invesco. I can't blame him as I'd like to see more of those. The problem lies in the ability to deal with reality. I see Mojo dealing with reality about as well as my 7 year old daughter when her nose is buried in her navel so deeply she can't see anything but lint.

I think it's time to let these threads die whatever death they're destined for.

                • One thing you can say about Charger fans...

...they're not afraid to call a horse a horse. They're all over their coach for the team's problems. I applaude them for that.

Unfortunately, Bronco fans don't have the integrity to do the same. Since the Griese days, I've suspected Shanahan's ability to assembly and lead a team to the Super Bowl. It's been apparent for me that Elway was the leader during the Super Bowl years, and the addition of the running game was simply one piece of the puzzle his team lacked. Yes, Shanahan can most certainly produce a good running game. But, he lacks in many other areas.

I wish the Broncos fans would admit it. It's time to get off that "horse" and make a change.

You couldn't add this to one of the other 10-15 page debates on whether Shanny should be coaching the denver broncos??

                      I'll agree with GEM.

But you mean that a franchise QB is important to winning a SB???? wow. what news here!

Look for the shanahan debates and read the responses. I'm sorry, but shanahan has produced more wins with less than any other coach in history following the loss of any franchise QB. The whole "shanahan can't do it without Elway" crap... doesn't hold water, honestly.

Not only has Shanahan done better than any of the coaches that has lost a Franchise QB, but has done better than any of the other TEAMS/Franchis's that have lost a franchise QB (buff, dallas, 49ers, miami). Not to mention no other coach that has won multible SBs have done it without their franchise QB. How many did Walsh win without Montana, Noll without Bradshaw, Landry without Staubach... and even Belicheck without Brady?

There are always exceptions to every rule

The Raves won with Trent Dilfer on one of the best Ds of all time for one season.

The Bus won with Brad Johnson with a good solid offense and also a great defense.

What Shanny should take is that with our current defense we aint winning nothing and it could be years before we are legit so to speak again beacuse of this. Legit I mean by a 12 win type team that is a lock to be at least in the AFCChampioship Game.

                          • I'll say the same thing to you as to every other thread, and every other idiot calling for Shanny to leave. . . . just who do you suggest they replace him with???

Even if he's not great (which by the way, is a stupid presumption, because he is) he's still better than any other option unless you want Denver to become another San Diego with Norv Turner.
Next time, put your comment in one of the hundred other threads that have re-hashed this a thousand times.
