  • Terry Pierce!

So what are we gonna do with this Kid? Is he going to fight for a starting Linebacker spot or what? I mean what's the point of wasting a 2nd Round pick if he's not producing for us or trying to make an impact. He's starting to become another Willie Middlebrooks, but at least he has an excuse because he seems to get injured a lot and I don't hate the guy at all. Anyway, what's the deal with Terry Pierce?

Well, at least you're hearing good stuff about DJ Williams that he's going to be starting for us or projected to start for us.

Do you hear all this about Terry Pierce? I know I don't.

        It's alright.

So does anybody else have something to add to this? Or do you all know nothing about this like I do?

It's only been a year. I don't think you can label him a bust. Give him a chance. He was an MLB in college. With Al Wilson there, the kid is not going to get on the field much unless there is an injury. If they are going to convert him to OLB, that is going to take some time for him to adjust.

He may turn out to be a bust, but I think it's way too early to judge him.

Yes i have something to add.

*ahem* If you guys dont know already... Denver will include a heavy amount of 3-4 packages in their defense next year, Terry Pierce will play the weak Inside Linebacker Spot.
Beneath the shadow of the NFL's greatest player, AL Wilson shall cement his legacy in Denver - leading the new Orange crush to a third superbowl.

he was signed because Al was going into the last year of his contract. Pierce was signed incase Al decided to go somewhere else. He also gives us very solid depth and a big guy to plug in for when we switch into a 3-4. He's def not a wasted pick.

Where do you start him? His natural position is middle linebacker, he has been asked to shed some weight in order to play all three linebacker positons which means he now has to compete with guys who already know those positions. He certainly is not going replace Wilson accept to give him a breather. Its going to be awfully hard for him to crack the starting lineup.

I think its improtant to remember that Wilson was at the end of his contract this year and if by some chance we not able resign him Terry would have been there to step. In other words he was drafted as insurance policy. He does have one liablity he's not very fluid in pass coverage like our other backers.

Never said he was a bust and I am giving him a chance but I ain't hearing anything about the guy. He's not making a buzz. I just want to get things going with the guy. Anyway, I hope he can advance his game to playing one of the Outside Linebacker spot. I just want to see what he can really do.

Sounds like a ST crash dummy to me, and trade bait afterwards.

ST, Huh? You mean a Special Team Specialist? Yeah, that's what all he does right now. I wanna see more from him. If he doesn't I say we trade him for a 2nd Round Draft Pick and pick up a DE, DT or whatever else this team needs.

He's not going to get much playing time because who is ahead of him. Its going to be very difficult for him to get onto the field, through no fault of his own.

He was a second round insurance policy taken out in case Al decided to get really greedy. In teh end I think Al realy wanted to stay in DEN knowing they had his replacement already played for less than he might have gotten elsewhere. The lure of another championship ring was dangled.

Do not get me wrong I like Al Wilson better than ANY other MLB including lewis. Al is a class act, a true leader that is working harder than most, to unite this team. But breaking the bank with almost any one player is crazy. We saw what happened after the 99 SB we had money meltdown on top of the retirements.

The one thing a I like about new england is with a few exceptions good hungry players working as a team to win it. when someone demands more than they are worth they are shown the door. And someone else, almost as good steps up.
