nope i beg to differ the sacks on cutler were from ends and backers. when grahm went down in the texans game, mario came up with 3 sacks! grahm is responsible for ends and backers on outside blitzes. in the sandiego game it was the same story. Castillo overwhelmed and forced cutler inside constantly, grahm could have very wll prevented those sacks! thats why he had only 2 against him the whole year.

Cutler gets sacked a lot and runs for his life most of the time. Do you know where we rank of offense holding calls. Its not it in the top 20 teams .. What does that tell you about Mr. Graham. He has got to go to much money and very very little productivity!
I think you need to understand the initial post.. and then educate yourself on the facts.

mojo (the person that started the thread) has always held the ground that we overpaid for Graham, because he wasn't getting many catches. The contention is, the reason he isn't getting many catches is because our OL is so bad, that he has to stay in and help our OL to protect Cutler. Hard to tell if this was true or not, until the last two games when Graham has been out almost entirely of both. What happens, Cutler gets sacked 9 times in two games.

So not only has Graham shown just how valuable he is to both our pass protection, and our running game.... but has shown how weak our OL is without him.

Its pretty hard to get the chance to get into pass routes when the OL relies on you so heavily to protect everyone.

Dude, you obviously don't know what the hell you're talking about. Yes, Cutler does get sacked alot, he even gets more sacked because of Graham's absence.

Hello!?!? Graham's been injured these past two weeks. As soon as Graham left the game against the Texans, Mario went loose! You're practically blaming everything that's going on with the O-Line on Graham, that's absurd and idiotic.

I agree that Graham's absence underscores what his blocking means to this team. It also explains why he is seldom allowed to release on passes.

How does Lepsis fit into this thread?:offtopic:

even shanny admits graham is the key!

"He's one of the keys to our running game this year," Shanahan said, alluding to Graham's ability to control outside linebackers and help on premier ends.

"We're going to have to get a little bit deeper at that position to have the success we've had throughout the years."

Denver struggled mightily running the ball in his absence with just 164 rushing yards on 39 carries the past two games, with much of the output coming on scrambles.

    ---

man o man, INJURY BUG HIT US HARD THIS YEAR!

Truth is that Lepsis was an alright right side tackle, so when he screwed the block the QB could see it coming, but on the left? He only really fit for a scramble team, in all fairness Plummer made him look much better then he is. I have always had a reserve about him as well! But now more then ever the truth is out...I think Denver fans are counting too much on Hamilton and Nalen to return, but even if Hamilton does...I would like to see Denver go after Lilja from Indy to compete for the left guard spot, have Myers and Hamilton battle for Center or possibly challenge Kuper and Holland at the right guard position. If Harris's back is healed let him, Pears and whomever else who wants compete for the spot, even if Kuper says he wants to go for it...then use our first round pick on the top left tackle which comes our way, Clady or Baker!

Would you like some hot sauce or ketchup with that crow? Just kidding. I agree with you 100%. Graham is also HUGE in our running game. These last two games are evidence of that.

    Welcome to Graham bandwagon, Mojo

Right now if I was the coach, the offensive line would be lucky their was one more game...or they would be escorted to the bus!

Seriously, I cant imagine us making huge improvements in free agency.

So that leaves the draft. We need a lot of upgrades and dont have many picks.....especially if Shanahan trades up for anyone like he has the last 2 drafts.

We might be stuck with some of these guys for a few years.
