Brandon Marshall making a bold prediction.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos' quarterback camp ended with wide receiver Brandon Marshall making a bold prediction.

            http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3440496

"I'm hoping and I'm working to have another 100-ball season," Marshall said Thursday. "I'm there mentally and physically right now."

Marshall's goal might have seemed optimistic in March, when he cut an artery, a vein, a nerve, two tendons and three muscles in his right arm in an accident at a resort in Orlando, Fla. There was concern he would miss the start of training camp on July 24, but Marshall said his right arm has gotten stronger.

"I feel pretty good," he said after the team's final workout of the three-week camp. "I still have nerve damage, but I'm still going to catch a hundred balls."

Marshall spent the camp working on his strength and running routes.

"My right hand is not as strong. That's the only thing," Marshall said. "The good thing about it is I have a lot of time left."

The next test is catching hard throws.

"He's full speed," coach Mike Shanahan said. "He'll be ready to practice, catch the ball June 22. He's getting in much better shape."

"I can't wait until that day comes," Marshall said. "We don't want any setbacks."

Marshall wants to build on his breakout season of 2007, his second, in which he caught 102 passes for 1,325 yards and seven touchdowns and emerged as the team's No. 1 receiver.

With the addition of veteran receivers Darrell Jackson, Samie Parker and Keary Colbert, Marshall thinks the Broncos' offense could chase what he called the New England Patriots' offensive chemistry last year.

"With our offense and our coaches, the sky's the limit for any of us receivers on this team," he said.

"Last year I thought we had a great group, but this year it seems so much stronger. We don't have any selfish guys on the team and everyone knows their role and what they need to do to get us to where we want to be."

              Brandan Marshall - Denver Post

              http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_9565281

i've seen a few other threads but not from the D post.

i like this bit - "I was able to get a jump start on Oakland, their corners: No. 21 and Dante Hall," Marshall said, meaning Nnamdi Asomugha and DeAngelo Hall. "No. 21 has a name I can't pronounce. I have all their plays broken down and I'm studying them and getting mental reps is always a plus."

Although the team is off from the time practice ended Thursday until June 23rd, Marshall said he would stay around to further rehabilitate his injury and work in the community.

i think he's a good natured kid who's done a few silly things and is growing up, rather then someone who's done anything malicious.

i don't really see how its a bit optimistic. if he could do it last year i don't see why he can't do it again. if anything, it might be easier because for one, there are more threats on offense causing the defense to be more spread out, the running games is probably going to improve, and cutler's diabetes is being treated.

Seems like Selvin started a trend with predictions! Given that Shanahan responded positively to his vocal goal of 2000 yards, I guess Brandon is going to follow suit....how very Wide Receiver-esque of him! IMO, it's not out of the question but he hasn't even taken a full JC-Power pass yet? Anyway, good to see he hasn't lost any confidence....

Hmm... I wonder if he was referring to anybody, in particular?

I sure hope he's right. Not only would it be great for the Broncos but it sure wouldn't hurt his new contract next year.

I'm really hoping he latches on to Rod as an example of how to live his life! I hope he's learned from watching Javon.
                          Thanks, Reid!

Same here. From here on out Brandon! <-- don't drive with that!

                            Another thing to add...

I feel a hell of a lot more confident in Brandon Marshall and his prediction of 100 catches, than Selvin Young and his 2k rushing yards.

                            But anything can happen.

                            • Good that he's running full speed now, so his only focus will be catching/timing. With over a month of continued rehab and no setbacks, the prediction seems valid to me.

We only need one of the FA/Rookie to contribute in the passing game along with the Brandons to be an improvement from last year.
