  • DT Carlton Powell Out for the Year

Rookie tackle out for the year

Rookie defensive tackle Carlton Powell will miss the season after injuring his right Achilles tendon during conditioning work earlier this month. "His Achilles popped," Shanahan said. "Obviously he's out for the year." Powell, the team's second fifth-round pick, signed with the team on July 8, with a signing bonus of about $180,000. Powell will be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

I guess that ruins any hope of him only missing part of the season... that really sucks.

come on. someone is bound to get injured. i dont think any team goes through camp injury free. atleast its a low round rookie and not a star player.

and no im not happy that he's hurt.

still though, i thought that out of the second day rookies he'd probably get the most early playing time.
