    Wesley Woodyard

    D.J. Williams

    Johnathan Vilma

ALL of these players are 6 foot 1...

    They are all extremely good...

Wesley Woodyard is IDENTICAL to Vilma in height and weight. He is 10LB's less than Willis and 12LB's less than Williams.

Vilma and Willis play MIKE... Williams did last year.

You'd be surprised how many starting MIKE's are 5 foot 11 as well.

People really exaggerate how small Woodyard is. Just because scouts and others have said that in the past doesn't necessarily make it true now. If there is anything people should have learned in professional sports by now it's that size and weight does not mean anything... not by a long shot... and as this shows, Woodyard really isn't that "small." He's just on the lower end of the weight table, but he has a perfectly fine build to play MIKE for us.

i dont care about height . . . it really means nothing

but the dude is a lot smaller than 230 . . . i guarantee it, maybe 220-225 but that is very very light for a MLB i dont care so much about height but he is not stout enough to play MLB , he would be swallowed by G and C. he needs to play outside where it plays to his strength of speed and athleticism

its just the truth just look up pictures and compare vilmas size to woodyards . . . they dont even look within 20 lbs of each other

See... it seems like he would do okay because he is quick and aggressive.

It seems that way until you realize that he would get SWALLOWEd on every running play up the middle by Defensive Tackles, and Offensive guards.

Remember, our Line is pretty terrible. And as good as he is on the outside, all that speed and agility isn't going to help in inside. It's just to much to ask a guy his size, and yes he is small, to try and work his way through guys that probably outweigh him by around 100 pounds....

        And THAT'S, the Cosmic Perspective.

The most important thing is that it looks like Niko wont get on the field. Anyone but him gives us a chance to win. Good to see that the coaches aren't blind. Game rust my ass. Woodyard stepped in and made an impact immediately.
Only a fool allows another's opinion to anger him to the point of hurling insults.

I would love to get Laurinitous (haha I am just going to go with your spelling). The Broncos defense just hasn't been the same since Al Wilson left. Do you think he will be around by the time the Broncos draft? I am just going to assume it is going to be a middle of the pack pick.

I can't believe it took this long for a Niko hater to chime in about how he might not be the starter.

I'm surprised you guys haven't started 15 threads about how signing him was a mistake and how much he sucks.

BTW, Woodyard went through practice getting actual reps on the practice field. Niko probably got nada. Don't underestimate the power of practice.

This is what I'd like to see right now. (from weakside to strongside)

Woodyard, Hagan/Larsen, Winborn. Even maybe give Woodyard a look a Mike.

I'm sure Woodyard will prove he can start either Strongside, or mike.
I would even go as far as saying Winborn, Larsen, Hagan and try Woodyard at SS or FS whatever our 'scheme' calls the STRONG safety.

The safety position needs to be re hauled. We could keep McCree for experienced depth and a situational Safety. And I want to see Rodgers and Barrett in the preseason.

Then next year, in FA & the 1st round I want to see improvements at Saftey and whatever position Woodyard isn't playing... we can't count on Boss to be healthy /sigh/.

                  As for next year. Backers
                  D.J., Larsen/new guy, Woodyard/Bailey

                  Safetys
New guy, new guy with Rodgers and or Barrett and McCree as depth

                  just my :2cents:

here is what I would like to see the LB and safety look like when everyone is healthy this year

                    SS - woodyard
                    FS - Macree
                    SLB - winborn
                    WLB - DJ
MLB - Larsen or the new guy

This gives us the best chance to win, woodyard played SS in high school, which is not the NFL but it is something.
if man is 5 and jay cutler is 6 then that must make john elway 7
