Lynch...isn't good anymore. Sorry. Hes old and slow. He would be as effective as our current safeties.

Abdullah...was NEVER good. I dont understand why this guy keeps creeping back into discussions. Everything that is wrong with Calvin Lowry....is like 50x worse with Abdullah.

      SO irritating.
      Saviors?

      Why are you exaggerating?

The bottom line is, how can we think a player is good enough to start one week, and then be released the next week. If we thought they were no good, they shouldnt have been on the team. As I said none of these safeties were all-pro, but that doesnt mean we just release them all. We did the same thing with the D-Line last year....getting rid of Gerard Warren, Mike Myers, Demetrin Veal, and Jimmie Kennedy(none of which all-pro)......and now we have the worst run D in the league.
dont let him pull dat move on ya, dont let him pull that move.......................oh no dats da move! TOUCHDOWN!!!

      I tried to warn ya.

So what, you want six scrub safeties on the roster instead on three? Just keep rotating through them week by week?

You can only have so many players on the roster. There is no reason to keep players who don't contribute anything.

Would you rather have a bunch of veteran scrubs playing half assed, or try giving people who are hungry a chance to prove themselves?

Rodgers got his chance, started, the coached watched the game watched the film and decided he isn't ready to start, and that roster spot was needed for a FB.

We need a FB, because our regular FB's are now a RB and a MLB.

So would you rather have a player to play full back, or an extra scrub safety on the roster who can't contribute to the team?
        sigpic

        And THAT'S, the Cosmic Perspective.

Man do I wish they still had Warren. If it weren't for Bates being brought it, he'd still be on the team.

This revolving door at safety is getting out of hand. It's obviously not going to get better this season, so I'm thinking the draft would be the best way to solve this problem.

We need a Fb cause we went cut happy and released Kyle Johnson and Cecil Sapp when we had noone better. Hillis was unproven at the time, let alone Larsen

Hillis and Larsen are both good fullbacks.

And we haven't missed them since.

Hillis is more than what we need at the FB position. He's a stud.

This is spot on. We can't just 'keep' them when they aren't going to be pulling the weight we hoped and wanted them to pull.

We don't need "sapp and Johnson" because we were "cut happy" .. we need a FB because (as you said) our FBs NOW are taking over the roles that have been completely depleted by injury. Why would we still have Johnson and Sapp on the roster??????

The point is we didnt have anyone better. Same with all the DT's we released at the start of last year. Everyone said the same things "they arent world beaters" etc....but we were left with scrubs.

Not saying Hillis is a scrub FB, he's not, but Larsen is a convert....not a true FB.
