  • All things Jay Cutler

On the Dan Patrick show, Dan and Jay were talking about quarterback ratings. Jay was asked what QB rating he would give Dan for his interview.

Cutler said, "93.6, pretty good but not blowing anybody away, a couple touchdowns and a pick."

Dan replies sarcastically, "Am I the broncos the last 3 games of the season?"

Cutler says, "The offense or defense?"

... immediately followed by "I didn't mean that, I take it back."

    Dan, "Too late."

    Funny interview.

It's pompous to jokingly state what the whole football world has said all year? Why can't he have a little fun with it? Especially with Patrick who almost pushed him to the punchline?

Yeah that comment was funny....the defense was bad but hell the offense didn't really do anything the last 3 games either.

Jay mentioned that like right after he said it so it wasnt like he was putting it all on the defense.

No that's not funny... He can take that remark and shuv it up his .

That's not how a team leader speaks about his team. This behavior is really starting to irk me. Grow up Jay Cutler, this is how the NFL works... you are not always going to be put into a position to do whatever you want.

Hopefully McDaniels shapes up our defense so this kind of talk subsides.

Obviously Jay still has some growing up to do.

I'm sure the other players will blow it off, but if he keeps up this kind of behavior, it could get to the point where the other players can't blow it off. Eventually they're not going to be able to justify it. We've all seen what can happen when a player takes shots at his teammates in the media(Terrell Owens).

Jay should have remembered the inconsistency of the offense before he made his little crack and come up with a better response. But then again, it's understandable that he might forget only scoring 10 points against the Faiders at home or only 10 points against Carolina.

The criticisms of Jay set aside, he's a talented quarterback and what he does on the field is far more important than the crap that comes out of his mouth when he's talking to the media. I'll be more impressed with his opinions on the defense when he can throw to the open receiver instead throwing an interception while trying to throw to a double or triple covered Brandon Marshall.
