Grats for quoting out of context. By the way, what is wrong with speculating where Jay Cutler would be a good fit? Do you have a source that says Jay is 100% staying in devner, because we sure as hell know McDaniels is a liar when it has come to this whole situation.

Listen, Jeremy Bates was granted permission to start looking for a new job on January 13th....

He could have remained with the Broncos, but since McD was coming in to CALL the plays, it was only a matter of time before he found a new job to his liking.




A couple of days later, McD and Cutler FINALLY talked for the first time.

"We had a great conversation about where we're going, what we're going to do and some of the things we've done in New England in the past and some of the things they did here," McDaniels told KCNC-4. "We had a very, very lively conversation. I can't wait to meet him."

"I think that's just time spent and effort put in on his part, my part, the quarterback coach's part, whoever it is that is working with him at that particular time," said McDaniels, who replaced Mike Shanahan. "We're going to work hard to get (Cutler) just as comfortable with my system and this system as he was in Mike's system."

They had a POSITIVE interaction. BOTH are excited.

McD wouldn't lie about the conversation they had... right? No.. I doubt he'd lie in this situation.

If Jay were to have been pissed off for Bates dismissal, AFTER the conversation between the two, we would have known.


That's why this whole "Cutler wanted out of Denver after Bates was let go" is so premature and pure media hype.

It's history, and the comment was made BEFORE he and McD talked.

Maybe I am like way out of touch with reality or something, I don’t know, or maybe I am over reacting. I seen the headlines about Culter being traded I almost hit the floor. I don’t blame him for being pissed, I probably would have been more pissed and maybe a few fans agree with me, Who says he shouldn’t? If I get kicked in the balls … I would probably be pissed at the person kicking.

To even entertain thoughts of trading Cutler, in my opinion is insane. I was behind the Daniels thing, I was trying to be optimistic about the change, but now I see him wanting to make a Cloned team of the Patriots. I don’t even like Cassel !!!! And who in the hell would trade a QB like Cutler for Cassel? Cassel might have had a good run last year but sh*t … lots of sh*tty QBs have had positive streaks. Im sure he will be a fine QB and is good … but trading Cutler?

I hope they can get a grip on things or this team is going to hell.

Good post! Unfortunately there's a lot of idiots running around complaining about his attitude when they need to put themselves in his situation and ask themselves how would they react? Is he supposed to feel secure and pretend it's perfectly fine for the team to seek a trade behind his back after being told his coach couldn't wait to coach him in the upcoming season? These morons are acting like it's no big deal to piss off your franchise QB....something RARE to find in the NFL these days.

stats don't lie... and I believe cutler with a good defense will be awesome. If he wasn't that good ELWAY himself would have had something to say about his comments towards him... so OBVIOUSLY people need to see we have a good QB we just need him to take his meds and get off his butt and go talk to the FO and fix this so we can focus on this coming year.

Think about it.

The Broncos fire Shanahan and Jeremy Bates, and Jay is obviously upset. If you believe Peter King, he asked for (and would have been denied) a trade to another team. Fast forward a few weeks, and this whole business of the Broncos trading Jay in a three-way trade to bring in Matt Cassel. The Broncos deny anything serious took place, assuring everyone that they just fielded a couple of phone calls. Jay and his agent, Bus Cook, on the other hand claim that they know they were actively trying to trade and shop Jay around.

Could it be that Cutler and Cook were the ones that sent feelers out to the rest of the league to try and push the Broncos in a situation in which they'd have to trade Cutler, while all the while making Cutler look like the victim in all of this, being lied to by the Broncos front office and his new head coach?

Interesting theory if you ask me..

While it is possible, I can't see Jay wanting to take the chance of ending up in a place like Detroit. If he is that unhappy here, just say I want out and will do anything to get out of here. Because if he is the one doing all of this, he will not endear himself to McD and possibly face a little retribution from him.

Cutler actually has better stats than Elway, I'll agree with you on the inconsistent part, but when has Jay not thrown 40-50 times a game last season? You can only do so well when you aren't running the ball or playing defense.

I think rather then both sides fixing this now. They need to take a week. Cool off, Cutler or McD needs to invite the other over for a game of Madden and a pepsi and forget this crap ever happened.

Cutler has already had more yards in one season then Elway ever had, and he's already almost tossed more tds's too. 2 less then elway ever has. and the int / td ratio we can all admit elway tossed some damn INT's up in the air.. and the rating... yeah elways rating when he was all said and done wasn't the best. so lay off jay. and let him do his thing.. so what if he is acting like a chump.. he didn't get arrested or cause trouble. it was all brought to his front door step. and he has the right to be mad the team is telling lies.

This was a stupid notion. We all know why McD. tried to pull this off. Cassel done knew the plays. It would of made a smooth and imediate showing. But you know Bowlen wouldn't trade his prize player. So that was the end of that. You really can't blame him, Even though Cassel wouldn't make a wart on Cutlers ass. Everyone deserves one mistake. He has used his, now we can move on. McD. has been shaking things up and we have a pretty good start to our defense. Cutler will chill in a couple days and business will be back to normal. They will get along just fine because Cutler isn't stupid. He will understand what the reasoning for him was. Cutler will pick up on McD. plays real quick. As for Brandon, he better get his head out of his ass. They shouln't suspend him seeing how they dropped the charges. 8 games would kill us. Bowlen will have to do some sweat talking. Wow you really have it out for Cutler now. Every post I've seen from you as of yesterday has basically been of the opinion that Cutler is garbage and needs to go. If Cutler started this, then you may be of the right opinion, but will you acknowledge you are wrong IF it turns out that McDaniels did lie about the whole situation. Personally I think it was ESPN that started much of this mess, as they love stirring the freakin' pot and also hate the Broncos.

Peter King is a typical ESPN Shock Jock who loves throwing gossipy headlines on ESPN. Personally I think he's a hack. I'd go with Schefter if not anyone else when it comes to credibility in reporting Broncos news on NFL.com or ESPN.com, and so far his story has basically been that no one knows for sure but that speculation points to the front office considering a deal and then deciding against it afterwards. If that's the case, and we all know Schefter is rarely wrong on these things, then McDaniels did lie as he said they never had any intention of trading Cutler. What he should have said was, I considered some offers we got but then decided against it, or the phone call with Tampa and Detroit should have been a short and sweet "No thanks, what else do you want to talk about besides Cutler."
