You mean the Quinn that couldn't get his ass off the bench without an injury? Yea, pass on that.

    • Official Grow Up Cutler

The title says it all, Culter needs to suck it up and deal with it. He is not 16 he is a 25 year old man, and starter in the NFL. He needs to stop acting like a spoiled punk, and get back to camp. The C on his chest means he is a leader of the TEAM. He needs to start to act like it.

      • I hope you guys realize, everytime Herm, Trent or anyone who talks about the Josh McD/Cutler situation, they're just repeating news that we already knew. So please yall.. no more "breaking news! Herm thinks Josh McD will try and setup another meeting with Cutler!"

        • Trading Cutler is a horrible scenario, since we are on the verge of greatness again. However, if the relationship is irreconcilable, then let's get him to Cleveland for Brady Quinn. Quinn is young, tough, and ready to lead and start. I hear people mentioning Jason Campbell, Byron Leftwich, Vince Young? Are you kidding me? One of them for Cutler? We need a gunslinger and Quinn fits that bill and he can move around in the pocket, just like Cutler. If no Quinn, then go sign Jeff Garcia (he's old) because he would be good for a year or two, while a younger QB is groomed. Leinart can't start in Arizona so what makes people think that he could start for us?

          • Do you really mean to the Browns JUST for Quinn? That would make me kill myself.

Very Interesting article. It also got me thinking.

Since there are other teams that know Cook's method, I would think that the NFL League office would know as well as the NFLPA.

Couldn't the NFLPA warn Cutler of Cook's methods?

Could the NFLPA help Cutler work things out in Denver?

I agree only to an extent

What kinda of new head coach talks to the leader of the team and expresses all sorts of excitement about how much he will love playing in his system and then blindsides him and attempts to trade him

I can understand wanting to trade him but he lied straight to his face and like cutler mentioned he mislead him

I don't think they would, they likely take the stance that unless your agent is doing something illegal (tampering etc) then you are free to choose whatever rep you want....even if they do have questionable tactics.

                    • I don't necessarily have a problem with them trying to trade Cutler, as much as what they tried to trade him for. The reports I've seen had us trading him for Cassel straight up or for Cassel while trading down in the first. Either scenario boggles the mind if you ask me. I think I would feel insulted if I were Cutler. Truth be told, I think that's the real issue here: Cutler feels like he was nearly traded for a scrub (a lif-time backup is by definition a scrub), and feels undervalued and disrespected. I think he has a point.

                      • Do some of you even REALIZE how VALUABLE Cutler is?

Just take a look at this:

                        http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...s&confirm=true

» He guided the second-ranked offense in the NFL.

» He was No. 1 in fewest percentage of sacks, with 11 in 627 pass plays. That equates to one sack every 57 pass attempts.

» He was No. 3 in the NFL in third-down efficiency, the "money" down. The average NFL team converted 39.5 percent of its third downs; Cutler converted 47.5 percent.

» He was No. 3 in the AFC in yards per pass play (7.3).

» He threw for more yards than Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Donovan McNabb, Philip Rivers, Tony Romo and Ben Roethlisberger, to name a few.

» He had just two 100-yard rushing days from a running back all season: Peyton Hillis (129 against the Jets) and Michael Pittman (109 against the Jacksonville Jaguars).

» He had eight games of 300-plus passing yards (five of those at 350 or more), connecting for 15 touchdowns in those contests.

» Sure, he threw 18 interceptions, which is unacceptable, but his ratio of picks to attempts was 1:34, which tells a slightly different story. Last season, Brees had an interception every 37 pass attempts. Favre's ratio was 1:23, and Roethlisberger's was 1:31. Cutler's career ratio is 1:33.

» Only Jacksonville's David Garrard threw more passes in the fourth quarter of games than Cutler, who completed 100 of 167 passes for 1,212 yards and 11 touchdowns with just four interceptions.
A franchise quarterback comes VERY few times every decade.

Look how long it actually took us to find Jay Cutler.

We had to go through Bubby Brister, Brian Griese, and Jake Plummer. All average quarterbacks who could not lead a team down the field for a win.

We finally land a guy in Cutler, a guy who has SO much potential and SUCH a high ceiling to grow.

It's not even funny how sick Jay Cutler could end up being.

What he has done at 25 years old, it's going to be SCARY to see him at around 30 or 31.

Josh McDummy has SCREWED the pooch on this one. He wanted his boy toy and denied trying to trade Jay away and get him.

Now, we might lose this special SPECIAL player, which will also set the franchise back another five years.

I completely agree. That's why half the league is trying to land him right now. However judging from the responses on the boards, there are more people than I expected that could care less if we loose Cutler.
