Seems more like you miss shanny than you do like mcdaniels. Which is fine I guess, but it doesn't change the fact that he has no place on the team anymore.

Lets see smart one...Buck, Lamont, Anderson, Gaffney on off...He wanted to change our QB...With these guys signed someone has to be cut...Hall, Young, maybe Hillis? You never know with him...He has lost his team...Take what Stokley said...You see what happened to Leetch...Its cut throat...Every man for himself, and what they did to Leetch was wrong...

                • Best I could find on the situation:

                  http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_11830461

Even before they acquired Jabar Gaffney and signed David Anderson to an offer sheet, and before they knew Brandon Marshall would get into trouble, the Broncos decided to bring back veteran slot receiver Brandon Stokley.

Stokley's return was ensured Feb. 27, in the hours before the opening of NFL free agency, when the Broncos and Stokley agreed to roll his $500,000 unguaranteed roster bonus into his 2009 salary. Then they agreed to guarantee $560,000 of his $1.41 million salary for this season. So Stokley is back, despite the crowd at receiver.

"When you bring a new coach in, you just never know," Stokley said. "I wasn't sure until I signed that new contract that I was going to be here for another year."

Most teams carry four or five receivers on their game-day, 45-man roster. The Broncos have four in Marshall, Eddie Royal, Gaffney and Stokley. Anderson would make it five if Houston doesn't match the three-year, $4.5 million offer he signed with the Broncos as a restricted free agent.

                  Simms passing through.

The Broncos will visit today with veteran quarterback Chris Simms. If a deal can be reached, Simms, 28, would replace Patrick Ramsey as Jay Cutler's backup.

                  Scheffler on trade block.

The Broncos have been shopping Tony Scheffler. Scheffler, 26, is considered one of the NFL's best receivers at tight end — his average of 16.1 yards per catch led all players at his position with at least 40 receptions last year.

However, there is concern Scheffler might not fit in the New England offensive system that new coach Josh McDaniels has brought with him to Denver.

New England's offense usually lines up with three wide receivers and one tight end. The Broncos already have the prototype New England-style tight end in Daniel Graham, who played for the Patriots from 2002-06. Graham left New England for free agency in part because the Pats rarely use the tight end in their passing game.

The most logical destinations for Scheffler are teams that operate the West Coast offense, which often uses a second tight end in the game. The Philadelphia Eagles have the most prominent West Coast offense.

                  Footnote.

Former Broncos offensive tackle Erik Pears has signed with Oakland.

                      • Sheffler gets hurt too much, i think Graham is a better "true" tightend...im sure we can find a good recieving tightend in the draft, like turner from usc, i think he'll be a good tightend in the league and if we trade sheff he'll be a solid replacment..
Will the real #6 please stand up!

                        • I love me some Scheff, but if it gets us another draft pick, and gets us closer to being a whole team, I'm all for it.

I wanna see Tony flourish and have a great career, and the system will not work in his favor.

                          • I've always liked the excitement Scheff has brought to the receiving game.

I've always disliked how much he gets hurt and the fact that he's not much of a blocking TE.

I'd be ok with a trade that brought good value, but would be sad to see Tony go.

                            :go:

                            • People are still dismissing the fact that without Tony S, we only have one TE on the roster.

                              • I'm so sick and tired of of the constant disrespect for our coach. Was I shocked when Shanahan was fired? Of course but the one constant in life is change, at work, at home and with your favourite sports teams.

WE do not know what was said behind closed doors, WE don't know what kind of attitude Jay may have given the new coach.

This is a business and it's a cold one, guys are played and used up and ultimately thrown away when they're no longer considered useful.

I would hate to lose Cutler too, I've been a fan of his since day 1 but I've been a Broncos fan since the mid-70's...through the years of Craig Morton and John Elway and Brian Griese etc etc. I am a Broncos fan now and will be long after the Cutlers and Marshalls and Scheffler's of the current team move on.

We may not always agree with every decision our teams make but I will not resort to name calling like some kind of spoiled child. Shanahan had my support and respect because he was my team's coach and now that respect and support goes to McDaniels. I know I won't always agree with everything he does but in the end....I am a Broncos fan...now and always!
