  • Score Predicition for the Bronco and Chiefs Game

O.K. It is Wednesday but not too early to predict a score for the Broncos and Chiefs game. Normally these are very close. Gunther's defense will be out to send a message but so will Broncos Offense because they have been doubted by everyone because of the new starters and the loss of Clinton Portis and Shannon Sharpe.

Nevertheless it is the opener and it is in Denver. Mike Shanahan is terrific in game planning for openers so I cannot go against the Broncos in this one.

I will let all you others work out the logistics for scoring and just give a prediction...

    Broncos 24
    Chiefs 17

KC's depelted WR core compared to Denver's rebuilt secondary, a full stable of very good runningbacks, KC still "rebuilding" their defense, and being at Invesco lead me to say 28-17 Denver.

14-10 Broncos... Come on, we are really not that strong on offense... Our defense will lead us to 11-5 though!

Yeah, but when was the last time the Chiefs held someone to 14 points?

Well the way our offense is looking... It doesn't look that hard.

Good research. What I notice is after week 8 they pretty much feel apart on the defense. Also at week 8 teams pretty much took Dante Hall out of the scoring and long punt returns.

I think the answer to a lot of that is everyone found out they could run the ball on KC and so they did so.

True, but at the NFL level , if you play poorly, you will get beat. So even though those teams were not good, the Chiefs still had to play the games.

What I did notice was that between week 8 and week 17, they had a big gap there. What was their scoring defense like during that period?

Ok, I know they had defensive problems in the second half of last season, but that is like night and day.
