  • Time to give credit --- McD's wisdom in the trade...not the one you think!!!

Remember when McD traded up for Alphonso Smith and gave up OUR 1st rounder from next year.

So many of us got so mad that he didn't give up Chicago's. Many of us thought Denver's pick would be a top 10 pick, and Chicago would have a mid to late 20's pick.

Turns out to be another wise move.

I wasn't a supporter of trading Cutler AT ALL. But we have to admit this coach has a good idea what he's doing, and is definitely going to help this team improve!

    Kudos McD, kudos!

Don't stop there, Cutler threw 5 INT tonight and now has a league leading 17 in 9 games!!

I'd say that wasn't a half bad trade either.

It's funny because the Alphonso Smith trade was still terrible any way you look at it.

SHOCKED by Donktown disdain toward TEBOW. He saved your 2011.

UR TRIPPIN!!! Yeah I would've rather had Maluaga....but I'm tellin you, Alphonso Smith is gonna be a ballhawk, he's been injured lately so he hasn't been that great....but in the beginning of the season he was playin' some ball! don't forget all that easily, almost had a pick six vs Cincy!

It was a standard trade. Value of a pick in the current years draft is one round earlier in next years. The panthers made the same trade for their pick also.

Good point but, I would have rather drafted Rey instead of Alphonso. . .

Shows the confidence he had in his first season, that's for sure.

Maybe it makes sense if we finish say, 12-4 and make the playoffs. Maybe not if we finish 9-7 and don't. I believe there would've been value without moving up. That being said, How much does Bailey have left??? Maybe your right...

That could go either way, value in a first rounder is alway there. We just used it in the way we did. Another way to look at it also it the money we saved in not having the extra pick or picks (if we traded down), we have to sign quite a few fa in this next year. It looking like dooms contract is going to be something nice, so without the extra money going to an extra first or late round picks we may have the cap room to keep him around with the other FAs.

Did'nt Cutler promise his team he would'nt throw 4 picks in a game again after the packers game... I think he said that. Well looks like he's still not a man of his word

I don't know how good Alphonso Smith is going to be...and I personally think its wayyyy to early to judge him.

BUT -- I am just impressed with the fact that he made the right choice in which 1st Rd pick to trade away.

Not many people were putting their money where there mouth was regarding who would have a better record - Chicago or Denver.

But McD did take that gamble and it looks like it will be paying dividends.

No, he's still good with his promises, he didn't end with 4 picks, it was 5, lol.
