  • Broncos Sign Herb Taylor, Harris to IR

RT Harris done for season : First-and-Orange is the authority on the latest breaking news and analysis about the Denver Broncos, written by Troy E. Renck, Nicki Jhabvala and other Denver Post sports writers. Colorado

Right tackle Ryan Harris will not play again this season for the Broncos.

Harris dislocated his big toe on his right foot Nov. 1 at Baltimore and re-injured it in the first quarter of Sunday’s game at Kansas City, his first game back in the lineup.

Harris visited a sports medicine specialist in Vail on Tuesday and was told he would not be able to play again this season, even if the Broncos make the playoffs.

Harris was replaced for five games and then again on Sunday by Tyler Polumbus, a graduate of Cherry Creek High and University of Colorado.

Harris, a third-round pick in 2007 out of Notre Dame, started all 16 games at right tackle for the Broncos last season, as well as the first seven games of 2009

Terrible news. Ryan Harris is one of the better RT's in the league.

At least we do have Polumbus. He has played pretty good in the absence of Harris.

Injuries are part of the game. Thankfully it's just a toe- so you would think it wouldn't impact RH moving fwd. I, too, think TP has played well lately. Just have to accept it and move on.

Feel bad for Harris. He really has played well for us.

Lucky for Bronco nation we found quality players who can back him up.

We will miss him but will be that much better when he comes back.

Hopefully Ryan has a quick recovery and comes back healthy next year.

The question is who do we sign for depth behind Polumbus and Gorin?

However, in the gamble that is the NFL draft, we'll roll the dice on the proven and unmatched passing talent of Tebow rather than on the sorry track record of pro football talent evaluators.

Polumbus was not owned by Hali. I think Clady gave 1 sack and Scheffler another. Plus, Orton was holding the ball for too long without moving. Polumbus is a great backup, he opens holes for the running game and we will be fine with him.

Well, obviously this is not good news.....but truth be told, you have to admit we have been pretty fortunate on the injury front this season.....especially compared to last season!

Man, I hope I didn't just jinx us.....

To be honest, Tyler Polumbus has been playing almost as good if not a little better than Ryan Harris... Knowshon has been getting much bigger holes since Polumbus has been in the starting lineup...
