  • Outlook from a HAPPY Bronco fan...

I feel like I'm on another planet when I come to this forum. Am I alone when it comes to being proud of this team? I thought we had a very impressive year with the changes we had over the offseason.

Our team COMPLETELY changed. New head coach, new offense, new defense, 8 new starters on defense, a new quarterback, and a rookie running back. We shot out of the gate with a 6 game win streak. We have stumbled as of late, but it was expected. We had an extremely tough schedule. We've played 6 of the teams in the playoffs, that accounted for 7 of our games, and came out 4-3 against them, and we had a chance to beat the Eagles and Colts. I don't know how you can call that embarrassing.

I think if we would've gone 3-3 then ended up getting 5 more wins after the bye week you guys would be singing a completely different tune. I know, for most people, it's hard to see the forest for the trees, but 8-7 is 8-7 and we're still in the playoff picture, even if we might need help.

We have 5 players going to the Pro Bowl, 3 of them starters. We have the NFL sack leader in Elvis Dumervil! Our drama-magnet WR has ANOTHER 100 reception year! Our rookie RB has gotten ROW 4 times! This team can play brilliantly. It is a young team and it has it's problems but I see a bright future, WITH Josh McDaniels. I'm ready for next season!

Here's hoping for a Broncos win, Ravens loss, and Jets loss.

Sign me up - Shanny's team was stagnant...dead end there.

There is a new Sheriff in town and he is doing things his way - so be it. Rome wasn't built in a day, and it'll take some time for him to get things where he wants them.

As a 30+ year fan I don't hang on everyday - I know it takes time to rebiuild an organization - especially when it goes so deep as to change the entire organizational philosophy - I'm ok with that, because the one we had wasn't winning games.

I find it funny, but also aggrivating to pop in here and see the days 'chicken little alerts' - 3 months ago this place was wrought with 'McD Rookie Coach of the year' threads and SB threads, lol... Look at it now.

Lose a game and it's full fire Orton, Fire McD, I'm embarrased to be a fan, this team sux, this offense sux, blah, blah blah...Those are the young'en's, in my opinion, the one's that haven't lerarned that good things sometimes take time.

We won a few games, and they went all giddy - SB! SB?..lol.. Hello!!! - this team was supposed to win 2-4 games, remember? We still have a shot at the playoffs and have 5 players going to the PB, in what has been a very difficult, turbulent year for the team.

If we continue on the path that we are on this team will be back to prominance in a few seasons. I trust by then many of our 'embarresed to be a fan' fans will be crawling back then, saying ok, I really do like the Broncos....

    *sigh*

Sign me up as a full time fan. I love my team, and they'll be back - and I'm not foolish enough to believe that we should be flipping the NFL on its ear after the changes we have recently gone through.

Next season, there will be complete change again on offense since we will be losing Marshall, Scheffler, Hillis, Hamilton, possibly even Royal and Orton. So next season, you can again feel contended when we fall out with an 8-8 record and attribute it to re-building the team.

The fiasco with Cutler was one thing and I was willing to give McDaniels the benefit of the doubt given the entire situation.
Now on the eve of the teams biggest game of the season it starts all over again with Marshall and Scheffler?

I have tried my best to support McD all year but I beginning to think that his ego is overtaking the entire situation and wasn't it ego that in the end got Shanny fired?

The job as it is seems to be too big for him. First of all he needs to give up the OC role so that he can focus on just being a HC and developing some relationships with his players.

Regardless of how things turn out for Marshall and Scheffler how many others has he alienated and what are the chances any free agents will want to come here after everything they've seen/read the past year.

I love this team but once again it looks like we are in a mess and headed to another 8-8 disappointing year.

          I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!

I said keeping Marshall was a bad idea. But I was right for the wrong reasons. Marshall acted like a pro much to my surprise.

But the coach undermined himself allowing Marshall to go relatively unpunished for trying to poison the team at the end of preseason. And then the coach went on to reward Marshall by making him essentially the entire offense.

If Marshall is really screwing over the team..... THAT'S WHAT YOU GET COACH. You play with friggin fire and you get burned.

I personally don't think Marshall is the problem per say. I think the coach has lost his head. And he has positively lost the team. And I suggest the sole reason for that was handling each player to a different standard.

I know really first year head coach who came from a very sucessful team like the Patriots of course hes gonna make mistakes because he doesnt quite know how to handle a new team with players he has never coached before.

I wish I could have your optimism about my Broncos right now, I really do. I wish I could say that I have confidence about us beating KC this weekend and everything falling into place in order for us to make the playoffs. Perhaps you are a better person than I for being able to keep positive with the way things have turned ever seen the bye week. It's tough to be honest at the moment for me to have any hope that we make the playoffs, but you can bet I'll watch every moment of this weekend's game on top of the fact that I'll be watching the scores of every game that has implications for our playoff hopes. God, if anything, I hope the Bengals lay it to the Jets. No team is getting more garbage help right now that deserves it the least than them.

                    Happy, happy??? Happy for what?
                    - A gutted core of a team.
                    - Dismissal of Marshall, Sheffler, & Hamilton.
                    - A 2-7 slide after starting 6-0.

I'll admit that I drank the kool-aid after the 6-0 start, but after seeing McDaniels self-destruct this team I am no longer convinced that he is the coach to lead us to another SB appearance.

                    What McDaniels is:
                    1. A liar.
                    2. An incompetent playcaller.
                    3. A coach who has lost his team.

I will support Denver, but not McDaniels.
Mr. Bowlen please wake up and fire this idiot.

I will add this to what the last post said...if you are a happy Broncos fan right now, I gotta question how much you care about the Broncos, and I'm usually the person who hates most when fans call out each other for not being "true fans." (I hate that because who is anyone to say, especially over the freaking internet, who is and who isn't a true fan) Honestly, I'm upset any year we are not contending for a SB (which means I've been a pissed Broncos fan for years lol). As far as I'm concerned, if you are willing to settle for just trying hard, what's the point. The whole goal of the game is to win the Super Bowl. If you aren't playing for the Super Bowl, then why bother?

                          Thank You!

Thanks for starting a positive thread. . . I am on the same page as you, I am very excited about this TEAM. I like the philosophy, I love the defense and I hope McD and Mr. B are rewarded for building a team based on principals of TEAM FIRST.

Hopefully, in light of current events, we will get the final bit of drama out of our system and move forward with players that are bought into this system and these ideals. There is so much to look forward to and playoffs or not, I am proud of this club.

I guess I'm excited and looking forward to watching a practice squad player become an active receiver in the most important game of the year.....

Even though guys who have "far worse injuries" than Marshall are playing in the ball game.

But hey, coach knows best right?

I could not agree more. McDaniels has a system he is trying to build and this year he went 1/3 of the way there. More successful than many expected and on the right path. Looking forward to the manuevers in the offseason before this one is even over. Bye, Bye to the malcontents. Josh says over and over, "We are building a team."
