  • Bud & Bowlen - you're killing the 12th man!

As a season ticket holder who believes the fans really can make a difference in an NFL game, I'm really bummed that Pat is undermining the momentum we've built (with much effort) in our new stadium.
There are only a couple of cheers that get more than 70% of the fans really involved, and the Budweiser Charity announcement they're doing during the touchdown celebration is KILLING one of the best ones!

Does anyone else who's been going to the games know what I mean? It's new this year, and their timing is awful. I'm all for charity (heck, even the corporate kind - I voted for the stadium tax!) - but c'mon.. there's a time and a place.

I hope others agree, and together we can get the powers that be to take heed!

    Go Broncos!

What do you guys say when they score a TD?

Hey you didn't come find me on Sunday - I'm hurt!

I think the A/V guys are getting all sorts of things messed up this year - hopefully they're working on that. I know the KC game was just pitiful...

Want to hear something that will really make you scream? You know that interception/fumble play? We were up in the rafters pretty much & were trying to get the crowd going for the defense after the challenge on that....and got told to SIT DOWN...by some jerk 2 rows behind us. We asked the people directly behind us if they could see still & they said yes...so we continued to stand...The guy again said "DOWN IN FRONT" (never a please)...We turned around & I said "No"...My friend on my left said "Where's your please?" The guy was like "y'all need to sit down or I'm gonna go get 'the guys'" My buddy said "fine, go get them, what are they gonna do?"

So the guy goes & gets "the guys" while I tell my other friend on the left side of me what just went down. HE gets up when the event staff guy comes back & goes & talks to the event guy...By then fans from 2 sections over were telling the guy to go home if he wants a good view. We made a pretty big fuss about it, but the guy didn't say another word to us the rest of the game.

WHY come to a game if you're going to be THAT intent on not having a good time. The guy wasn't even short when he was sitting...he was blocking out the "noise" by using his headphones & a radio...and wouldn't cheer or do anything. BLAH

How do you compare Invesco to Mile High? I've never had the honor of either one and as a TV watcher it sure seems like Invesco is sterile.

Well I just got back from my first game at Invesco. ( I live in S.Cali)

Man it was awesome! I cant even put it in to words.

Im buying my tickets to the Indy game I hope it snows!!

Special thanks to all the fans and Denver in general was a great time.

Footnotes: Adams Mark hotel was good and Renee the cheerleader was hot! ;p

First it was best team not to make the Play Offs. Then it was best team not to win a play off game. This year its best team to go 8-8.

What's the cheer that y'all do which is broken into 3 parts. I hear it all the time on TV, I think when Denver is on defense. I hear:

              "Bleeeh, Blaaah, Bleeh!"

atleast a couple times per game.

My adopted Bronco is Chris Kuper. Huzzah!

I know what you are talking about. They were talking right over the celebration and it pissed me off too.

Hey, Blue, I was up in the rafters too. We also got told to settle down, but nobody got the "guys" after us. All in all, I was disappointed with the fans near us. They wouldn't cheer and kept making bad comments about my friend and me. But it didn't stop us. We usually sit in the South Stands and it is a hell of a lot more fun down there.

You guys are AWESOME - keep it up!

Down in front? How about "get your butt back on the couch, loser!"

I've had the same thing happen to me. The KC game last year (Portis' coming out party)... if you recall, it was basically a playoff game for us. It was a legit must-win game. I went on ebay and spent $300 so I could be front row on the 17 yard line (home side). I stood up (like Al asked me to!) for the opening kickoff... and same thing: "Hey, you guys better sit down!" I turned around to see the whole section on their butts!! I screamed at them "This is the playoffs - get on your feet!!" I think about 6 people jumped up and cheered, the rest sat on their hands.

Another time, in the lame-arse club section, same thing: "you guys better not be standing up the whole game." What in the #$%*& are these people thinking??

Blue and all you other real fans - keep standing, cheering, exhorting, screaming... and the next time someone tells you to sit down, head straight for the event staff and tell them that someone is harrassing you and threatening you. Tell them you are doing what the scoreboard says to do (get on your feet and make some noise) and this guy is threatening you. He'll be 86ed in no time (trust me - it works!). A basic rule in managing crowds and such is that whichever story gets told first is assumed to be true until sufficient evidence to the contrary is presented. Toss those lazy no-good faker poser couch potatos out!

I've even had a guy get pissed that I ordered a beer from the beer guy and he had to hand it across to me. Go home already!

I have to say this has been a real frustration since we moved over to the new stadium - but it has gotten better each year. Keep it up! Let's make it uncool to sit - not uncool to cheer.

Go Broncos - and Go Broncomaniacs! Let's re-establish a dominating home field advantage.

Blue - so sorry. We got to the game late and didn't really get much chance to tailgate at all. I was pretty bummed about it. We showed up at like 1:15, sucked down a few wings and a coupla cold ones and headed off to the serenity of our quiet stands. That parking lot was just too darn noisy! We had to go inside the stadium where we could sit in peace and contemplate our navels.

Halloween should be quite a party... hopefully we run into each other then.

what section? We were in 502, Row 20, seats 9-12...The guy was 2 rows up, same seats. Apparantly he has given my other friends (we have these as season tickets & I hadn't ever sat up there yet...Usually they're filled with other o-maners) dirty looks & a hard time before.

If you're ever in that section of the stadium, make sure to be a real brat about standing up & making noise & being as obnoxious as it is allowed. I wouldn't yell obscenities, because there are a ton of little ears up there...but noise is noise! Hell, if you're in any section, make a lot of noise...

The o-maners that have those seats for other games are already instructed with how to handle the guy. I don't think he'll be messing with us much anymore, between the Event guy not doing anything, and us continuing to stand up & my friend continuing to yell "Go home" to the guy & people 2 sections over yelling at the guy to go home -- he didn't say another word about anything - though he did glare at us all the way out of the stadium. I don't think he'll be a problem for the rest of the year, but he might...

I was at the KC game last year too -- The people around me were the "new to a bronco game" type people. I walked into the stadium dressed completely in orange -- I even had my orange gatorade, orange socks, orange (and blue & white) shoes, orange mittens, orange purse, and was carrying about 5-6 of those pompons. The people on one side of me actually said to me "Do you get crazy at games" I immediatly said yes & the yelling commenced. They told me later that they asked so that they wouldn't offend me by yelling...THEY DIDN"T WANT TO OFFEND ME BY YELLING????? WHAAAAAAAAAT? For that game, I *had* to stand the whole game because the guy in front of me was so tall that when he was sitting I couldn't see. I was still supposed to be in a wheelchair then & I didn't even complain. The people on the other side of me had never been to a Bronco game & the lady didn't really have a clue about football, though she had been a cheerleader back in her day. She fluffed up my pompons for me & I was explaining some of the traditions to her & she was joining in on the noisemaking, even though she didn't really know what was going on.

We had some chiefs fans in front of us -- At the end of the game, the two kids were crying & yelling at us that "oh yeh, atleast we didn't *need* this win & some other team to lose to make the playoffs"...

Billy - The navels eh? I'm more of an earlobe contemplator myself. We'll be in the same spot -- atleast check out the pictures of the new paint, if you didn't see it already on Sunday...She looks sooo great -- It's amazing how a simple paint job & a few choice songs on the loud system will completely change the atmosphere. We even had the stampede stop in front of us & give us our own personal show! The MVT ref & even Broncos_mgr stopped by...

Well, I sit in section 322 and we do that whole cheer where you thrust your fist up in the air with the music. You know - bomba daaa da, "Hey!" bomba da. Bomba daaa da, "Hey!" bomba da.) - the same one lots of colleges do (at least I know CU does it).
Then, during the "chorus" if you will, we point out the visiting fans and chant "We're gonna beat the hell outta you, and you, and you and you and you!" (Of course this is all light-hearted fun, and I think it's part of the experience a visitor expects if he "represents" by wearing the opposing teams uni / colors or whatever. If anyone of those folks needed something from me in "real life," I'd give it to them... we're all God's children).

What's happening is the Bud charity announcement is coming on in the middle of the song, so everyone sits down before it really gets going. Ugh.

Blue, we were in section 501. I think I saw your group gettin loud. Unfortunately, it was only me and my friend getting loud in our section. We tried to keep it PG-13 cause of the little ones though.

Exactly...And even if they don't need that, depending on how they're acting in response, they are usually welcome back to the bus to party with us. Last week we had a group from pantherfanz.com stop by & tailgate with us. After the initial harassing, they were invited to join us for food & drink, because they were good people -- They had contacted us from Joe Cahn (The Commissioner of Tailgating)'s website http://www.tailgating.com and were really excited to be here. They are doing an AFC west tour this season & were in KC a few weeks ago. They expect to get harassed a bit, and are really excited when people are nice to them.

Of course, Raiderfans cannot expect the same treatment (unless you're a HOF fan & then are protected by Barrelman & crew -- even then I've heard rumors of police escorts...).

During the Chiefs game this year, there was a guy sitting in front of me (sec 135) that was all decked out & was having a good ol' time. There was a KC fan a few rows back & then one up on the deck by the handicap seats. They were yelling things back and forth (nothing foul or offensive) just hasseling each other...The cops came down & told the guy to "tone it down". Funny thing is, by the end of the game, even through all the yelling & hasseling, the KC guy came down & sat through the last quarter with all of us & the guys were still giving him crap...He was a good guy, for a chief fan...(probably a bandwagoner anyway...His girlfriend was a Broncos fan & she was getting hit on by the other Bronco guys that were making all the noise, while her boy was down messin' with the guys, I think that's what made him go back up top).

I know that the old Southstands used to be venomous -- If you were wearing the wrong colors, you'd get assaulted. To a degree I *like* how other people are getting a bit of respect, YET still getting hasseled...I don't like the freakin' cops coming down telling a crowdpleaser to "tone it down".. .THAT'S LIKE TELLING THE BARRELMAN TO FIND HIS SEAT!!!
