Yeah, the defense needed work. Thats why McDaniels got rid of Jay Cutler, scheffler, hillis, marshall.... etc

I'm pretty sure Josh McDaniels will be the HC of the Broncos in 2011...beyond that.....?

Which is why it got the most attention... The only returning starters were dumervil, dj, and champ...

And whether you want to believe it or not, the offense had it's own fair share of problems, cutler being a very large one.

Yup, the offense did have its share of problems, but no offense other than that of the Colts did more that year to carry the rest of the team. Most of the problems that offense had stemmed from losing 8 RBs to IR. Not to mention, it had around 8 out of 11 starters with less than 3 years of experience.

Anyone who thinks Cutler, with the way he played in his first two full seasons here, was a "problem" either has ridiculously high standards (being met by no more than 4 or 5 QBs in the league) or is not being entirely honest with themselves.
Hoping for a defensive-minded head coach and a return to the ZBS on offense. At the very least, no more cheaters for head coach.

Its not like he cut Cutler. We got two firsts, one of which is Ayers who was playing great before his injury. And Orton who has been playing good. We have one of the best WRs in the league in Llyod so whatever about Marshall, we have replaced him with Llyod and DT soon enough. Dont forget the second round picks we got for him too.

Scheffler is still second string and cant block which is needed in this system.

Hillis got into the coaches doghouse and what happened happened.

The team needed to rebulid a defense not the offense. Now McD broke both

We ARE an injury plagued team, and not just minor injuries, as some of our most vital players are either out or playing through injury.

You cannot lose 2 of your best 4 players on defense and expect their back ups to pick up where they left off. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

You can't expect your two best Olinemen to go down with injuries and make themselves play earlier than they should, and still perform at their highest level.

You cant expect to lose half your starting secondary and expect their rookie/2nd year replacements to mimic their performance and leadership.

                Sorry, just facts

The Green Bay Packers would beg to differ. I love the injury excuse because it assumes that ANY team in the NFL thinks it will go through an entire season injury free. Look around the league! Players are dropping week in and week out. HIGH PROFILE, intergral parts of teams like the Colts, the Steelers, the Jets, the Chargers, THE PACKERS (probably the team with the most missed games by starters)... yet each of these teams find ways to replace injured players and still produce. Hell, the Chargers and the Colts are using my uncle's brothers nephew in the WR lineup and still egtting it done.

Injuries show how good the coaching staff really is.

Actually first it shows the depth of talent on your team and defensively we lack a lot of needed talent. Hopefully we will address this in the draft and offseason moves. I don't care who you put coaching this defense, if you don't have the talent coaching can only get so far. You have to have players who can and will make the plays

To date, here's the 2 year comparison for those who coached in both years....

                        Caldwell - 20 and 5

                        Ryan - 16 and 9

                        McDaniels - 11 and 14

                        Cable - 10 and 15 (if you add the 08 season, he's 14 and 23!!)

                        Haley - 9 and 16

                        Morris - 9 and 16

                        Mangini - 8 and 17

                        Spag - 5 and 20

Keep it in perspective.......sure McDaniels slumped, but I wouldn't give too much praise to the 5 guys below him just yet!
