Elway never said that Tebow chose to play for the Jets ... and Tebow said clear as day that he didn't.

      That is what is obvious.
Elway gave Tebow and his agent a choice and they chose NYJ because of the market and the opportunity to start.

Also Tony Sparano is the oc for the jets. If Tebow doesn't guns down the starting position he still has some plays in the playbook to run every week.

The Broncos sent Tebow to the Jets because he told Fox that’s the deal he wanted, although if the Jags’ offer had been significantly better, John Elway would have traded him to Jacksonville.

Ultimately, Tebow felt the love coming from the Jets. And sources say Fox felt the right thing to do was trade Tebow to the team he wanted to go to as a parting gift for taking the Broncos to the playoffs and being gracious during the 10-day courtship of Peyton Manning.

Anyone who thinks that Mark Sanchez would be easier to beat out in NYC than Blaine Gabbert/Chad Henne in Jacksonville has rocks in his/her head.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey insists he wanted quarterback Tim Tebow.

Speaking before a fan event Thursday night, Mularkey indicated that reports saying otherwise were false.

"Don't believe everything you hear or read in the media," Mularkey said. "It's hard not to want a guy like that. We wouldn't have tried to trade for him if we didn't feel like we didn't want to have him here. There were a lot of things that went into this thing to try to get Tim to come here.

"In the long run, it did not work out. But if you do not want a player, you don't even get involved with it."
                ...

I think the Jaguars were the best destination for Tebow. Gabbert is worse than Sanchez. And the Jaguars can easily dump Henne, signed as a free agent, while Sanchez still carries the status of a 5th overall pick with playoff wins. If Tebow really had a choice, I am surprised he did not choose his home.

Its easier. The Jets are a mess right now and some (if not all) are outing each other to the press. Also there were several of times that Mark Sanchez almost got bench in the past three years.

Yeah ... I don't think Tebow's plan is to carve out a career as a gadget QB, or to be the goalline/short yardage QB.

Well we agree on something. Henne stinks, gabbert is mediocre at best. Sanchez, while a mid-level QB is the encumbant and has a pretty decent following.

Gabbert is a 11th overall pick of last year draft that the jaguars trade up to get. The Gm is going to give him every chance to fail, in the other hand Sanchez has gotten some issues with the Jets over the past year.

                          The Jets ...

... collectively have said the plan is for Tebow to be their Single Wing aka "wildcat" QB.

If Sparano is getting better results during a game with Tebow running a Single Wing style offense, he will leave Tebow in during that game.

How they plan prior to a game is another matter.

The Jets clearly plan to have two offenses.

Sparano must be reading Steve Spurrier's book.
