Remember, this took place in Florida where they have strong "Stand Your Ground" laws to protect people who act when they feel threatened (Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman). Dumervil should count himself very lucky that the guys (and women) he approached and then threatened with a gun in the Impala weren't packing and decided to "Stand Their Ground" against him.

If you were in a car when someone walked up to your window and flashed a gun... you would be terrified... and think he is a thug. A witness thought it was bad enough to call the police. Doom and his passenger were arrested and charged.... the alleged victims were not. That is enough to make assumptions of character... regardless of the legal outcome.

I want to know more but the fact the two got out of their car to flash their "thugness" tells me enough personally.

Sometimes I am angry and have been known to get roadrage but never in my most frustrated moment have I been dumb enough to leave my car and approach the other driver which can ONLY be understood as an attempt to get into some kind of fight.

Maybe there was a gun...maybe there was not. Regardless the fact these two idiots left the car will mean they will get punished one way or another.

I'm just going off what's been reported. The accuser and an independent eye witness from a nearby store say that Dumervil and his friend got out of their car, approached another car stopped at a traffic light, and then threatened the occupants of that car by flashing guns. There is no excuse for that.

You're right. If that happened then there's certainly no excuse for that.

I'm so sick of these damn idiots. And their awesome thug life. Nfl players are freaking stupid.

One of the best stories I read was how Dennis Rodman hired a guy fulltime to keep him out of trouble. If a party was getting crazy the guy got Dennis out of it. It a situation was looking bad the guy told Dennis to leave. If a girl even HINTED she wanted to say no the guy escorted her away.

Allot can be said about Dennis but least he understood what he needed to do to stop from getting out of hand.

More sports players need less thugs in their lives and more guys like the dude who kept Dennis out of trouble while he was working for Dennis.

Local news doesn't do a good job of reporting anything. Anyone who has ever been a party to a local news report knows this. They never get it completely right because they rely on heresay of anyone willing to blab in front of a camera.

If this incident goes to trial, most of the sources currently being cited won't be considered reliable by either the prosecution or defense consel. If a sufficient number are weeded out, it may not even proceed to trial. One item left out is whether or not Dumervil was arraigned and entered a plea. All that has been reported is that he was arrested, charged and released on a very small bail.

If everything reported is true I am disappointed in Doom, and I wouldn't call him a scumbag but definitely a knucklehead. With Dawk gone he was supposed to be a leader on this defense this year. Flashing your gun at someone to intimidate them like some thug is pretty immature. Hard to look up to someone like that. Hopefully he learns from this and grows up.

If true, hopefully he spends some time behind bars.

There are no facts in evidence. There has been no trial. There is only reporting done by local news which does not constitute "material facts".

Fine then. Those are the facts as currently reported. If the reported facts change, then I'll change my story. (And "material" fact doesn't necessarily pertain only evidence introduced at judicial proceedings, it's a term used to distinguish between types of facts - trivial vs material).
