Was vons all around good game good enough to keep up with watt and smith? I think the pick six and ff sack helped make the resume more impressive. Did he get anymore tfl?

If voters don't look at strictly hollow stats and watch some game film then it will come down to Watt and Miller at this point. Tillman was making a huge case earlier in the year but has cooled off and Aldon Smith is a wonderful player but he benefits from being a pure rusher and getting 5.5 sacks from a horrendous Bears oline. Honestly don't feel like a homer when I think he is the front runner at this point. Obviously we need to take each game week by week but we have a favorable schedule coming down the stretch in which we should be playing with leads and Miller and the defense can play aggressively. This defense is a different animal when we can play with a lead and Del Rio really unleashes its full potential at that point. This should help pad his stats and give the voters something to look at down the stretch.

Bailey got shafted by the "Sack stat" in 06. Miller will be shafted this year IMO. If he loses to Watt, I have no problem with that. If he loses to Smith I will be livid.

It's Von and Watts, I think whoever finished out Dec. the strongest will probably get it at this point.

I wouldn't begrudge it if Watt wins over Von but Aldon? Pfft please.

While it would be awesome for Von to get DPOY, I'd much rather see him kissing the lombardi trophy. But if I was voting I'd certainly give it to Von. It will be a tough decision for whoever votes on that this year for sure.

Agree with this, i'd have no problem if Watt won it.

Having just as good of a year as Miller.

Von is going to be in the DPOY race until the end. But as of right now, i'd have to give it to Watt.

I wanna see the next 4 weeks before he gets defensive player of the year. I have to say smith right now only because it seems that San Francisco is still in their QB funk after they stunk against ST.Louis and smith is still doing just fine over there. With Miller, he gets underrated because of Peyton. It sucks, but I think this is what the NFL belives. Now if san fran goes to a 4 game skid, then miller should win DPOY. He is definitly above watt because Houston also has a good offense.

People don't really look at many stats anymore. That requires reading. They watch highlight reels and that's it.

Doing the same with political media too: just listen to what the morons on various liberal news stations regurgitate, or read only the headlines, and do no research for one's self.

Society has become sad in that regard. Working on finishing up my masters degree and I see more stupidity from the youth on a daily basis than one should. Hopefully voters look at the bigger picture and just how much Miller changes team game plans and is a one man wrecking crew.

It is Watts award to lose. He is keeping up with the LBs in stats from a 3-4 DE position. That is impressive. Right now I say Vonn is 3rd or 4th. I think Aldon takes home second. Yeah he is a pass rush specialist, but right now he is the best pass rusher in the game. Tillman has fallen off but he is still in the conversation, but it is tough for a CB to take home the award
