PM wouldn't be here if he didn't want to work with McCoy long term. In that case I think it would be a pity if he is hired away and undo one year of work with the O. If he does get a HC offer, which I think unlikely, I would suspect that PM would have a big say in who his replacement would be. If that is Norv, fine, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I think Manning coming to Denver had almost everything to do with Elway, and nothing to do with McCoy.

Peyton Manning came to Denver because of Elway, Elway knows how to win a championship and Peyton wants another crack at it. Elway was willing to build the team around Peyton and had the cap space to do it. McCoy is benefiting from having Elway in charge and Manning on the field, that's not to say he is not a good OC, but any OC would look good in that same scenario. Like I said in another post; If Manning is happy with McCoy then that is good enough for me, if Manning is not happy with him then you can rest assured that he will be gone. Don't think for a minute that Manning don't call the shots. Elway will give Manning what ever he needs and wants.

He had Kyle Orton who was a backup on the Chiefs and now Cowboys and Tim Tebow who hasn't thrown a meaningful pass since he left and we are seriously judging Mccoy on that? How about he made Tebow relevant and went to the playoffs with a gimmick offense and a guy that cannot play in the NFL, Fact. This is Peyton's first season back with a completely new surrounding cast and OC and we are judging the OC after 13 games and we are 10-3.... really now!? Like I said earlier I don't agree with all his play calls but Peyton has missed plenty of plays as well just look at oakland he had Decker wide open on the check down to Caldwell and again on the check down to Moreno he had a TE or WR deep and beating coverage by a noticeable amount. He has called pretty damn good plays, and execution and play calling are not the same thing.

I love Decker and DT and think they are above average wr's in this league, especially DT. Having said that, they are/ were very green and raw coming into this year. They had a lockout year coupled with playing a season with Tebow and a gimmick offense at the helm. This is not a finished product people and just out of curiosity I would love for people to shoot out OC names bc it will be flavor of the week and they will have just as many or more questions than Mike Mccoy.
Backing Moreno, Ayers, and Smith for 09.

I'm not a fan of McCoy, but I sense a double-standard here. People don't want to give him any credit for the success the team has had while he's been here; but nonetheless want to bring in Norv Turner, a man whose resumé as an OC was greatly aided by the quite considerable talent he had to work with in Dallas.

Why talk about this now. Why can't we all just wait until the season is over.

Then time will tell the tale.

I never said it wasn't because of Elway. McCoy was simply part of the package and from what little we see on the sidelines it is evident that they work well together and have a mutual respect.

As thorough and meticulous a person as Manning is, how could his decision have nothing to do with the OC of his choice? That would seem extremely out of character for a person who leaves no stone unturned in his evaluation process.

Why would PM's decision be based solely on one individual? The committee that visited Manning and escorted him in Bowlen's private Jet included John Fox, Brian Xanders, Steve Antonopoulos and Mike McCoy in addition to John Elway, didn't it?

Why would Manning's decision be based on receivers, O-Line, quality of life in the Denver area and not on the one coach with whom he would be working more closely than any other?

Maybe you should rethink this notion?

No absolutely No Norv Turner _ I don't trust that guy, there is so much bad blood between the Broncos orginization and him that I think Norv would sabotage as many games as possible, remember a guy named McDaniels?
