Some may take KC and the points ... if they like to gamble on sporting events.
"Those people" would be doing exactly what Vegas hopes they do.

I don't really believe that KC wants to win. The only thing they have left to play for is draft position. If KC loses, they are guaranteed the first pick in the 2013 draft. If KC were to win, they would drop to the second pick unless Jacksonville were to also win. Of course they will not admit to purposely losing, just as Indy did not admit to it last season. KC did not start out wanting to lose, but now that the season is over, what is left for them? As we all know, bragging rights or pride does nothing for a team.

We are going to dismantle the chiefs at home. Peyton and Co. have their sights set on winning, and with a little Indy magic against HOU, pick up that 1 seed! LET"S GO BRONCOS!

Regardless, this is a story of two teams gone in different directions. The Broncos are the #1 Ranked team in some places for sure, whereas KC has pretty much assured itself of the #1 pick in the draft. I've written about them elsewhere, but if they had a Peyton Manning of their own, they'd be decent. For that matter, if they pick up a quality QB next year, they may be a threat....albeit, it might take a couple of years.

But here we are, a team coming together very nicely, and playing inspired. A win tmorrow and we may even be the #1 Seed in the AFC.......not a bad situation, even if Houston maintains their spot with a win in Indy. But I wouldn't count out Indy, who are now testing the waters of the playoffs again, and motivated that their HC is back!!

16.5 point favs.....the odds-makers are pretty good at this sort of stuff. It tells a story. I like this story, but watch out for KC in the not too distant future....
Great news! Although, if I'm honest, something about this game's got me nervous. I'm sure we'll win, but I got a weird feeling about it. Regardless, those are fantastic odds.

As I understand it the point spread is set to get about the same number of people betting over as are betting under on each game. That is to lower the casino's risk on each game. If a significant majority is betting one way or the other, the spread is changed to even out the bets. It was not set up to assess one team as being a certain amount better than another.

Same here. I always get nervous playing the Chiefs for some reason. Don't know why but they always play us hard. We win but I just have that nervous feeling too. Course, I always get nervous before all Broncos games. Just a nervous nelly. That's why the wine goes down really fast before and during the games and the cigarettes get chain smoked.
