  • Peyton when retired? Coach or TV Booth?

Do you think Peyton will stay in football when he's done playing as a coach or something? Or, based on his personality, go into the TV Booth?

I'd love to see him stay with Denver and be an OC.

It's a good question...at first I thought he was a lock for TV, but I could see him not wanting to leave the game and stay in coaching. He'd certainly be a good coach...I think TV's the answer though just because it's easier, good money and stress free.

That would be my dream come true - Co-owner with Elway

I read an article where Tony Dungy said Peyton would be a terrible coach because he can't understand that not everyone on the team can pick-up plays as easily as he does. He said Peyton would come in with new 25 plays a week wanting to implement them immediately and Dungy would have to explain to him that it would take time for all the others on the team to learn them. He said the only way Peyton would be successful as a coach is to have Peyton Manning as his QB....lol. I'll try to find the link.

That would be something to have Elway & Manning as owners of the Broncos. :thumb:

I see him enjoying being a father and not working for some time. After that, front office but I cannot see him being a coach. I'm not sure, given his personality, he would enjoy holding such responsibility without being able to actually go out there and execute. Front office positions are more detached so I don't see it conflicting so sharply with his competitive nature, if that makes any sense.

Sadly, I have zero confidence he would entertain coming back to Indianapolis due to the treasonous nature of his "removal" from the organization.

I see him and John kicking back behind an L shaped desk, feet up, cigar in mouth and a pile of Papa John's pizza boxes just barely obstructing the view of several Lombardi trophies.

Yeah he seems like a pure football player to me. It seems like he hates not playing and coaching is too close to being sidelined with injury. Also, I don't think he would enjoy the non-football aspects that coaches deal with, including front office politics, managing the media, and discipline.

I could see him go the Elway route, and it could be why he ultimately will finish his career in Denver.

I could see him acting, being a commentator, anything in the spotlight. He's genuinely funny and could easily be a media personality

Whatever he becomes not an OC for sure. He is type A personality. He needs full control of what he is doing. Do you think he will listen to some HC?.

I see him very similar to Elway eventually owning a team. I wouldn't be surprised if he owns Titans or any other team one day. His wife is part owner of Memphis and his roots are firm in Tennesse.
