        This is really lame. I hope we see him again sometime this season. I thought for sure if he'd play this week since he didn't play at NE. His knee has to been REALLY sprained if he just keeps having setback after setback. Hopefully, his absence doesn't have too HUGE of an impact today, especially in the red zone. Maybe Virgil has a big day... fingers crossed!

                Maybe, but the dynamic is different. Thomas has a "long" athleticism that gives Manning a ton of freedom. Defenses have to be aware of his location on the field, which frees up Welker to line up against an inferior coverage. Or they guard DT and Welker, which frees up Thomas, and he will hurt a defense more than Tamme can.

                It's a similar problem defenses face against Graham and the Saints.
