  • The Best Numbers in Bronco History

What numbers have had the best players in Bronco history...not counting retired numbers 44, 7 and 18.

    77 Mecklenburg and Alzado
    53 Gradishar and Romanowski

But maybe the number with the most good players is 80:
    Rick Upchurch
    Mark Jackson
    Rod Smith

#87 - Lionel Taylor and Ed McCaffrey

80, 87 and 27 have had some great players. Personally, I'm just gonna go ahead and pick 27 because, well.. it's a secret.

I think you deserve a "halo spinner" for forgetting Tombstone Jackson also wore 87.

I do not remotely believe in any kind of numerology, but Paxton Lynch's jersey number is in good company: Bradshaw, Brady, Rodgers, Kelly, Namath, and Staubach.

I guess we can assume 18 is officially retired again?

I was watching some college football yesterday, and Frank Tripuka's grandson Shane is the punter for Texas A&M. He's #46, though.

Speaking of numbers. Booker takes Hillman's job and then takes his number. Harsh?

Haha! You're right, I did deserve that! How embarrassing.

Yes, Taylor, Eddie Mac, and Tombstone - all time great 87s!

How about our own Charley Johnson?

He should've stuck with 20 I've been waiting to see a good Broncos running back dawn the number 20 in honor of Barry Sanders.

Even though he didn't play for us would still be nice to see you neatly Broncos running back where that number.

One of the best TEs Denver has ever had; great receiver and blocker.
