How much better or worse do we get when we add Athyba Rubin, Zack Kerr, Kyle Peko and Shane Ray in to the mix?

  • #2
Peko will be inactive most to all this season bet. Rubin will probably be a back up. Kerr will be the most rotated linemen between him and gotsis

By ruining the chemistry of what's already been working. Ray is a good pass rusher but Shaq is better against the run. Kerr could possibly take playtime from Shelby and Gotsis who's been on fire. Same cold be said about Rubin and Kyle taking reps from Domata.

Let's change it to the other side of the ball. Anderson and Charles been a very good one two punch for us thus far, do we ruin that to get Booker and Henderson carries?

Depth and rotation is great as long you don't lose production. Back to the defense, in the limited snaps Kerr did play in preseason he underperformed. Same could be said for Rubin in Seattle. Kyle played limited snaps against the Cowboys and we were less effective against the run when he was in, so the question has validity.

Maybe switching to an attacking single gap defense will help Rubin then again maybe it won't. Having Kerr spell Wolfe or Gotsis could be beneficial or it could hinder Shelby's performance due to less snaps.Kyle may have Domata's last name but they aren't the same type of nose tackle.

They're going to be able to provide depth so the hot hands stay fresh.

Side note - Bills message boards are calling "this guy Gotsis" a run stuffing stud..

I would like to see it remain Anderson and Charles for the most part. Maybe throw Booker in there late if we have a good lead, which we have both games.

I would also like to see Charles get some more carries. It looks like he still has that home run threat, and seems to be healthy. Plus I don't want to see CJ get hurt, which he does every year.

Well through 2 games that's exactly what he's been. Hopefully he keeps it up.

agreed - surprised other fans from other teams know this. gotsis is kinda like our best kept secret regarding the run.

And surprisingly (actually not really) there were a few people on here calling him a bust after last season.
