  • 2013 Star Wars Offense

I was just thinking about the 2013 Offense and just how good it was till the Super Bowl. To me it seemed every week Denver was hanging 50 points on an Opponent oh how I long for them days again !

It was an anomaly of a season, that's for sure.
      I believe.

Manning has Welker, DT, Orange Julius, Eric Decker etc. plus Adam Gase working with him oh yeah and a pretty solid offensive line that didn't feature Ryan Clady but guys like Ryan Harris, Orlando Franklin, Zane Beatles, Chris Kuper, Chris Clark... Nothing spectacular but it worked...

Telling me this present unit today cannot work in the bunch of crap. The Broncos need to stop calling plays that take 2.5 seconds to develop and go with the high-powered up-tempo offense that Vance Joseph promised.

Put Siemian in a position to get rid of the ball a hell of a lot quicker since he doesn't have time to throw but not only that commit to the running game.

I have so many issues with the logistics of that SB. Was there some prep issues with the coaching staff? Yes, but that wasn’t the bigger issue. The way we were shuttled and moved around was a nightmare. The ‘Hags were within 15mins if the Giants facilities. And their daily press conference was in the hotel lobby. They had us on a boat, in the Hudson River with a storm rolling in, and an hour away from the Jets facilities.

I also read a report that players were getting queasy after the conferences. And when I went to media day, they just weren’t energetic at all. Almost lethargic. Complete 180 from how they were in San Fran.

There was no set up. We had a bunch of guys injured for that game. Plus, it was just a bad matchup. We had a finesse offense going up against a smash mouth defense. Their front 7 was able to pressure Manning, and our receivers were no match for the Legion of Boom.

I know I use. ton of sarcasm ! I know that Defense wins championships and that is why the year following JE built the Great Defense of 2015 !

Don't get me wrong, that's more the main reason we lost. But having half your team seasick and 4 hours of road travel in a bus (thats's with the police escorts) don't help. Especially when the opposing team with that monstrous defense is land locked and deals with 30mins of travel (both ways) at the absolute max. That wears on you big time.

As great as it was it kind of just proved in the end that defense wins championships.
Now go get your shine box

Denver was caught off guard so bad that game. Seattle's defense was so fast and aggressive and I don't think Denver played a defense like that all season. Plus with the crowd noise Manning played scared. They should have tried to lean on the running game

Ya That Defense was scary good! As A True Denver Fan I knew that was going to happen to us as it always seems to be in a Super Bowl Denver gets blown out ! However redemption was sweet in 2015!

Same thing happened to the second best offense ever when they played the Super Bowl, Giants got a pass rush, Patriots couldn't deal with it and were pretty much shut down, putting up 274 total yards and 14 points.
