Flacco is on pace for 14 total TDs and 18 total turnovers. Compare to Keenum's 20:17 ratio last year.

John was quick to move on from Keenum, why dig his heels in on the huge mistake that is Flacco? It would save him a ton of face in the public eye if he could better admit his mistakes.

However, if we are being honest, I wouldn't want to start Lock until week 13 either. Things are in flux right now, and the next 2 weeks will determine the next course of action.

As for building around Flacco, it's not entirely a bad thing tbh. Let's say we decide to build up the OL. You need to do that for any QB, either Lock or Flacco.

Here's my issue with building around Flacco. Let's say they fix the o-line this offseason and the offense looks better next year - maybe better enough to go 8-8 or 9-7. In that case, they stick with Flacco because it gives them the "best chance to win", but it's only going to be a mediocre ball control offense because that's what you're building with an aged mediocre QB. So now we have an 8-8 team that's "trending up", right? Well now, you're really going to stick with the vet QB. By the time your young QB gets his shot, you're looking at maybe a season of assessment before his contract is up. Now you either have to pay up on your young, unproven QB or start the whole process over again.

It's a bad strategy because you keep the team in a mediocrity purgatory where you're constantly searching for your QB, but you can't find him because you hide him behind a vet QB.

For the record, I'm completely aware that the franchise QB approach is risky. I'm just really super duper bored with mediocre ball control offense because we have a mediocre vet QB at the helm. Give me a new, shiny QB that gets my blood pumping. At this point I don't care if I'm yelling at the TV cuz the young gun is making mistakes. It sure beats just kind of laughing at the TV because it's getting exhausting.

Say what you want about Elway's handling of the QB position, at least he moves on from the unproductive QBs quickly. All those guys he's missed on are long gone from Denver. If Flacco keeps playing the way he has, he'll find himself on the bench then on the unemployment line come the end of the season.

The only way Flacco isn’t the starter next year is if they bring in another vet QB. Nobody on this current roster will be named the starter going into next year - barring injury.

That is my wish as well. Unfortunately, I think this FO has shown time and again that they will not draft a QB high. I also doubt they make a trade to move up and get one. Even if they end up with a top 5 pick, I have my doubts they will pick a QB. Even if they do pick a QB #1, I suspect they would keep him on the bench behind their vet QB. Flacco is their guy. I think it’s been made pretty clear.

I still appreciate Elway, and think he is doing his best.
He took us from 4-12 to SB50 champs

Shannahan inherited Elway and then signed Plummer.
Griese and Cutler both didn’t work out.

He coached the team and drafted all the players, I consider him the best Bronco GM & Coach of all time and he couldn’t nail a qb in the draft in 14 years in charge.

If we like a guy that's supposed to go 1 overall we probably won't get him. Unless Elway really likes him. It tells me Lock isn’t ready. If based on what they have seen of Lock they believe Flacco is a better option, then Lock is not ready.

Elway has spent 2nd round picks on Osweiler and Lock and used a first on Lynch. If there's a QB he likes, he'll take him. Also depends on us being in position to take him. If we like a guy that's supposed to go 1 overall we probably won't get him. Unless Elway really likes him. Haha. Yes, he picked Oz in the 2nd and Lynch in the 1st. Lynch never saw the field. Oz got a shot when Manning went down and ended up on another team. I don’t care that they pick guys. I care that they are consistently shown the bench behind bridge QBs. If Elway picks a guy in the top 5 (which I highly doubt), he will be shown the bench behind the vet QB who gives them “the best chance to win”.

To be clear, I want the same thing you want. I’t simply isn’t going to happen.
