I would like to have the same QB for a few years. I don't care who is QB, I just want the offense to move the ball consistently, and score points regularly.Comment

I would still like the Broncos to draft a quarterback in this draft. Jarrett Stidham would be my pick in the 3rd round.
It's easy to list all the reasons why a certain move was wrong, or might fail. It's the "solution" that's tough. Thanks for putting your "solution" of Flacco and Stidham out there. We will see how it turns out! Should be interesting!Comment

If Flacco is going to succeed here, we need to draft a tight end high, possibly even another WR like Brown or N'Keal Harry. We also are likely going to need a RT, which may have to be done through the draft at a mid round pick.Superbowl 50 Champions!Comment

A lot of the OL needs refinement Munchie boy will help but we likely will lose Paradis to FA. I would be okay with McGovern taking over at C but we need two OGs as I don't believe Leary was playing very well prior to injury and now after I don't think he will be much better. Maybe we'll end up with two Connor McGoverns on the OL?Comment

1. Being moved to RG. He was a superior LG in Dallas and
2. Always trying to help out the guys around him getting blown up. Mainly the RT’s since Paradis is a top flight center.
I really wish we would move him back to LG, draft a LT and move Bolles over to either RG or RT.
Also don’t under estimate the ability for munchak and the new scheme to be a better system fit for Leary. We are obviously all skeptical due to his injury. But he didn’t just forget how to football when he left Dallas. And he isn’t that old yet. I truly believe it was more scheme than anything. I think Leary can still return to a dominant form here if we add some above average support along with higher. But losing Paradis certainly won’t help my case.sigpicComment

I still think scheme is partly to blame for Leary’s struggles. I hope I’m not wrong.sigpicComment

Those numbers are a little off. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/denver-broncos/cap/ has us at 22m in cap space. Cut Keenum and get to 32m, cut Wolfe and Sanders to get to 52m. Don't forget draft picks -10m. So 42m, and that is not much left to cover replacing those key contributors we cut or to re-sign/replace/tender the many key contributors whose contracts are expiring.
Brandon Marshall, Jared Veldheer, Domata Peko, Tramaine Brock, Shaquil Barrett, Matt Paradis, Shane Ray, Billy Turner, Bradley Roby, Andre Holmes, Zach Kerr, Gino Gradkowski, Jamar Taylor, Shelby Harris, Jeff Heuerman, Deiontrez Mount, Max Garcia, Kevin Hogan, Casey Kreiter, Jordan Taylor, Jerrol Garcia-Williams, Elijah Wilkinson, Joe Jones, Brian Parker, Matt LaCossse, Dymonte Thomas, Tim Patrick
There's just a lot of holes to fill and not much resources for it. Would help to have a significantly cheaper QB situation instead of a top 3 highest cap hit in the league for QB(even if we cut Keenum) https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/quarterback/
Should have cut Keenum, used the 11m saved on a 2 year 10m deal for Fitzpatrick and draft drew Lock. Our QB cap hit would be around 17.5m instead of ~30m and that could be the difference between signing/retaining a key player.
On another note... Leary can be cut, he does have an injury guarantee on the contract but is capped at 24M, he has been paid 18.84M ... doing the math if cut would save ~4.2M. Otherwise he is scheduled to be a 9.2M cap hit. I have researched this and I could still be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is correct. Still they might want to keep him at 9.2M ?sigpicComment

I'd like to see us sign Jessie James from Pitt. He's played in all games the last 3yrs and is familiar with Munchak.👍 1Comment

It appears you are correct. I guess i forgot because he was injured so early on. But our rushing attack was also very good earlier in the year when he was healthy and a lot of Lindsay’s best work was up the gut not out beyond the left tackle.

This is not me being an "appologist" but there's more to it than him just struggling to throw the deep ball since he won the Superbowl. And that's not even an accurate analysis really.
He won the superbowl in 2012. He had 60 passes over 20 yards that year and 12 over 40.
In 2013 he had 45 over 20 and 14 over 40.
In 2014 with Kubes he had 50 over 20 and 7 over 40.
From 2015 on he had Marty Mornweig who just refuses to call plays that throw down field. You see a steep decline from 2014 with Kubes to 2015-2018 under Mornweig.
It's a combination of not having any true deep ball threats (though he had Perriman in 2016 and that shows because that year he jumped back up to 40 over 20 and 11 over 40) and having a scheme that frankly doesn't maximize what he's best at.
Yeah, this is pretty much spot on. Joe performs best in an up tempo offense, no huddle/sugar huddle where a rhythm can be developed. After 2014 the philosophy always seemed to push and plod and try to shorten the game. They accepted that they were devoid of play makers and tried to do what they could to win with what they had. The philosophy and play calling did not play to Flacco's strengths, did not put him in the best position to succeed.Comment

The Keenum/Kelly combination (6'0", mobile gamer)... is half way through the new transformation into The Flacco/Lock combination
The sooner we get a developed Lock/Scang QB/OC combination the sooner the DEN future can truly begin; Flacco is step 1 of a process.
