Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

HC Vic Fangio swaps final practice of minicamp for team field day
So in the last day of OTAs, the Broncos decided to skip practice and have a Grade-School Field Day for all the players. What are your thoughts on this?
Personally I see this as a move to improve the camaraderie of the entire team, so I really like it.
Bill Belichick has not only canceled offseason practices in the past, he also canceled the Patriots' final practice before the Super Bowl to let the players spend time with their families. What is more important, a practice during minicamp or the last practice before the championship game?
The reason why Belichick did not cancel any practice during mandatory minicamp this year is quite simple, as already mentioned above. Tom Brady skipped the other offseason activities, so the offense needed the work with its starting QB. How many practices did the Broncos have with Joe Flacco? All of them. So, comparing the situation in New England to the one in Denver does not make any sense.
Brian Flores was part of the Patriots for 15 seasons, learning from Belichick. What did he do in his first offseason as a head coach? He canceled the last minicamp practice.
Adam Gase is a McDaniels disciple and also worked with and learned from Peyton Manning, a tireless worker. What did Adam Gase do with the Jets this offseason? He canceled the last minicamp practice for a golf outing.
The issue with NFL practices is the current CBA. Coaches have to spend months without having contact with players that need development, padded practices are very limited and the two-a-days in training camp are over since the second period must be just a walk-through. One more minicamp practice won't change that.
Vic Fangio ran very demanding offseason practices according to the media, not ending practice early like Vance Joseph used to do, running OTAs with a training-camp pace and pushing the players' conditioning with extra wind sprints after the team period. The players had their normal meetings during the morning on the last day of minicamp and Fangio canceled the last on-field work to reward the players with a team-bonding moment.
This is a non-issue regardless of the team's record this upcoming season. It's really not that hard to understand the big picture here.
Cancelled the 3rd day of minicamp? Are you serious? A brand new Coaching Staff, with a lot of new players? Doesn't the NFL: grant extra days of practice for a new coaching staff because they are likely behind the rest of the league?
I certainly hope this doesn't come back and bite Fangio on the keester if they appear unprepared in the 1st game against the little raiders.
Shanahan was known for the softest off season program in the NFL. He also went 138-86 while in orange.
Vic having a day off isn't going to hurt a thing but will only help get the locker room on his side sooner.
