    • The NFL is full of very athletic people . Von miller doesnt trump every other player guys. Fact is , Brissett made a great play . He didnt do anything for 58.5 minutes. It was just a great play by a NFL Qb.

      • Good grief, Von had 6 tackles and 1.5 sacks in that game.

          Adios, Jose Fresco...
          similar terms ??

plummer was traded to the bucs, then refused to report, retired and was sued by the bucs to recoup the money Denver paid him

they put the 13 mill he gave up from his 2019 salary into a bonus on the books in 2020...of that cap saving for 2019 we had 10.8 mill left,
if he is cut next year we would take a 13 mill cap hit but clear up 10 mill on the cap, that hit would be offset by the 10.8 we had left over from his restructure

if we cut him post june 1st we have a cap savings of 20 mill and a dead cap of 3.4 for 2020, 2021, and 2022

We have the cap space created by the restructure that made the dead cap

                    Per Overthecap

The Broncos agreed to trade for Flacco and the trade will be executed on March 13, 2019. The Broncos restructured the contract on September 3, 2019, creating $13.6 million in cap space by converting $17 million in salary to a signing bonus and adding two void years to the contract. The Broncos created $13.6 million in cap room and will add $3.4 million in cap room to the 2020 and 2021 contract years.
3.4 mil of the 17 mil goes against 2019 cap

Current cap space = Team Cap Space: $16,550,749

I know it is not straight forward but we never used the cap space created by Flacco restructure so if we cut him it is a wash.

                    • If your a ravens fan why do you care? If your a flacco fan i can understand. Flacco either drops back to far, holds the ball too long or is immobile. Hated the signing but understood it. Now we can move on

it’s ten million that will count against the cap in 2020 when it didn’t have to.
Elway foolishly extended Flacco before he tossed a meaningful snap.

I’m not sure what the plan was to clear up 10 million under the This season but Joe Flacco would have been off the books at seasons end.

Now we have to count another 10 million towards the salary cap in 2020 because of this. Perhaps 10 million may not seem like much to a lot of folks but it would’ve went along way in resigning Chris Harris Jr. or even Justin Simmons.

I could just hear it now, Chris Harris jr gets paid 17-18 million by the Denver Broncos and Justin Simmons leaves via free agency because we won’t have enough to pay him because we foolishly gave Flacco an extension when we did not have to.

If Flacco truly is done in Denver It’s really bad because it’s not like they could renegotiate now because they’d be way over tha cap and of course they can’t trade anyone now to make room nor could they cut anyone else without taking the cap hit anyway.

This was truly a foolish move by John Not only that but it is an offense that should tell Joe Ellis that John Elway truly does not know what he is doing, even still to this day.

Yes, Elway has to stop thinking he’s smarter than everybody else. When literally everybody is saying a move is bad, it’s probably a bad move. He’s thinks every move he’s makes will turn to gold, no matter how insane it is, then builds around that with plan b.

                            • Love the way JF throws the ball. But, he is getting pounded in the pocket. If we had a couple good off. tackles we would be 5-3. It's been about the o-line for several years now. A lot of this is blown out of proportion by the media. JF just wanted to be more aggressive in this situation and he spoke his mind. What is wrong with that. It's not like the OC has ever called plays before this year and maybe he learned something from JF's comments. A new system off. and def. and coaches in positions for the first time and a killer schedule add up to one thing. Frustration.

We have 10 million left unused from the money we gained by the new contract this year which should carry over to next year. So while we will carry dead cap space if he is released, the 1st 10 million will be cancelled out by the money gained and carried over.
