Despite my doubts that this thread was started with the purest intentions, I am going to look at the bright side.
Defense played very well, just wasn’t helped as much by the offense. They needed to hold on to the ball, and therefore run the clock more, so they could let the defense rest.
Some question marks still:
Is Chubb just going to have to get back into game shape or is that injury going to take away his athletic ability?
How serious is Boyou’s injury?
Offensively, there are going to be some growing pains. Still, I thought OL did pretty well overall. How much better will they be when Sutton returns?
How serious was Lindsay’s injury?
How is Lock going to respond to a loss? He had some mental mistakes, but still looks good.
I’d say let’s just be patient. Already looking forward to the next game!!Personal goals: GOAL WEIGHT = 250lbs
Weight loss needed for FGW = 120 lbs
Weight lost so far: - 24 lbs

IMO one time out on defense would have given us a chance...two would have given us a solid chance.
Instead Vic gets to take them home and sleep with them. Hope he sleeps well with us unused time outs.Time to build on the win and grow the team from some solid play higher level of play

Hard to blame the defense on Von, not sure how good he is anymore. Also starting to wonder if chubb is a bust. Looked promising as a rookie but not great last year pre injury and really didnt look anything special today.

The best thing about this game was Bolles. His name wasn’t called once. He gets a solid A. I don’t even care how well he played, lol! Just didn’t hear.....”holding number 72..... 10yrd penalty.........replay 3rd down.” And that would usually be right after a 30yrd gain#swapping

Offensively, the play calling looked like a flag football game. We have a $8 million dollar RB that get short yardage and we throw twice within 2 yards??? And a shovel pass on 4th down when the middle is already plugged because the suspected the run???

The worst of PS came when he went dive/fade/punt when team had chance to seal the game.
Jeudy drops the first down pass, big deal... You can’t put Lock in a third and long when EW is your RT. That’s just not worth the sacrifice, giving away a down to run some
time away...
But losers lose games, and PS’s offenses have done these same things for years...
It’s second and 10, ball at midfield, you lead by a point. Why is this spineless tool thinking about burning clock? Get the first down and win the game... read the room and understand the scenario.
This is gonna be a long season bc this young offense didn’t have an offseason, it lost VON and now has 3 LBs that wouldn’t start on most teams... That’s not good.
So why did PS play to lose? That dive play was a five away down. It made no sense, if you
We’re trying to win the game.
That’s a loser’s mentality that seeps in and infects the midst of these kids. Go right back to JJ, slant to Fant, but go try to win the game right there.
Why does the NFL keep recycling these loser re-treads. It’s like we’re condemned now to suffer another 31 games with this... Fangio and PS will guide us to 5-11 and 7-9 seasons and then be fired. So, buckle up buttercup. PS ain’t gonna change now.Last edited by fraguela09; 09-15-2020, 02:04 AM.

Monday night’s game marked the 39th time that Denver played its first regular-season game at home. The loss dropped Denver to 30-8-1 in that scenario.
In the 9 years the Broncos failed to win in Week 1 at home, they had just 1 winning season (1974) & 1 playoff season (2011).

When we are looking at the product on the field, it is really strange that we cannot appreciate that young QBs have to lead their teams to wins irrespective of their many objective flaws. This looks like Kyle Orton football - pretty and inefficient, with no sense of urgency, and lacking the extra gear when you are in win now mode.

The Titans got to the AFC Championship game last season but also didn't look like anything special yesterday. They also made bad mistakes and struggled to score (they should have scored more FGs but they clearly struggled to score touchdowns).
