Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Vic Fangio fined $100K for not wearing a mask properly on the sidelines
Totally agree. Heck, I've seen many MLBers wearing them while playing. That seems like an extra step, but good on them.
Define many. One per team is not many. And most aren't wearing them in the dugouts anymore. At some point people need to take the leap if faith that daily test (while not 100% perfect) still are a good indication that they don't have covid. Especially since league's are immediately taking steps when there's even an inconclusive test.
The tests aren’t 100% accurate, too many variables, such as they didn’t get the swab far enough in the nose, the amount of virus in the person’s system was too low to register, they’re already on the mend, or the test was taken too early.
We all have to wear masks, they can wear it too, I don’t feel sorry for them.

By that rationale every player should also wear a mask. Cause their tests may not be 100% accurate either.
But you can't spread something you don't have, the coaches have been tested every day, and the NFL certifies they don't have Covid, cause even an inconclusive test would mean they couldn't be anywhere near the team. So if the NFL tests them constantly and the NFL has said thy don't have Covid, why have a rule making them wear masks when you are clearly stating they don't have Covid.
The NFL having this rule is just virtue signalling. However the owners can change rules when they want, with the league randomly fining teams, the owners can quickly get rid of this ridiculous rule.

But if the league makes a rule, nothing to be surprised about if fined.
Bt they've selectively enforced the rule. Belichick had on a mask that basically covered just his nose, and he wasn't fined. That also doesn't take into account how ridiculous the rule is considering all of the coaches are tested every day. The rule was put in place because the NFL was initially going to scale back testing to just 3 times per week, but just before the season decided they'd just keep doing daily tests. So the rule is ridiculous.
Absolutely, when you're at a grocery store wear a mask. That goes for everyone. But the NFL has signed off that every person on the field has tested negative for Covid, or they wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the field. Also an NFL field isn't a public place that anyone can access. So why should people that the NFL has certified don't have covid, surrounded by other people who don't have covid, in a private place have to wear masks? That's not about saving lives, it's about looking like you'e doing something.
So you're against the rule, not the fact he broke it and got fined,
Ya gotta try to follow the rules. Everybody has to figure out how to be considerate of others, and wear masks, to help save other peoples lives.

It is known that talking loud or yelling aggrevates the sprad of virus, and another factor is that coaches are older and hence more exposed. It makes sense to have rules but it seems bizarre to fine someone 100000$, and more work should be put into how to be practical about the restrictions. US is in a bad situation with Covid-19, but we are talking people that are outside in empty stadiums.

I was watching many games over the weekend. As long as other HCs+Teams are getting the same fine I am ok with it.
If we the only ones...
I agree. If you have well defined rules, and you explain the penalties and the black and white of the rule, so that it is consistent, then you have no business breaking the rule and not being fined. Having said that, I am sure this has a bit of flex in it, for those who commit, but occasionally move the mask here and there. I am assuming the league is looking for clear violation.
My take, for what it's worth....these professional sports have far too much riding on virus control. one blip and a team is in jeopardy, maybe two teams or more. And though it is highly unlikely that Fangio's actions will lead to infection issues, it's more about the image, the perception and most important, the reminder of what's at stake.
