Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

So will he be the Swing Tackle on Monday night behind Bolles and Dotson?
Denver has been activating eight O-Linemen on game day. When Wilkinson was starting at RT, Anderson, Schlottmann and Dotson were active. Calvin Anderson has been on the depth chart as backup at LT and was briefly listed as Swing Tackle after Wilkinson went on IR. Jake Rodgers had one start at RT last year and think he was activated from the PS for the Jets game. Now that he is on the roster, my guess is that he will rep as backup RT behind Dotson with Anderson backing up Bolles on the left. Morris, Bailey, Paulo, Rodgers and Muti have probably been the scout team O-Line.

OK, thanks for the insight. It's no wonder Rypien came in and flashed an ability to make up for a subpar line playing behind those guys in practice.
I hate to say this but I think Bolles has finally developed into a starting LT. Per PFF is he is broncos highest graded player. If he continues to be a solid LT does he stay? Most players Elways let’s test FA market and leaves with gaping holes for random FAs to fill.

As long as the refs don’t reverse course on holding calls because he’s still holding guys, but not as bad as usual.
I am going to give Bolles credit he is grabbing less, outside the core of the defender, than in any previous year. He is a very good run blocker. The better we run the football without holding penalties the less predictable we are in the pass game.
The O-Line is playing so much better now that Dotson has been in place at RT. I am just relieved that E.W is no longer on the Line I am sorry however he just does not have what it takes to be a RT. I honestly do not know what the reason is behind Dalton Risner's regression this year?
I see excuse after excuse after excuse to prop up a man who has now more than likely led the organization to 4 straight losing seasons. You can argue the little details here or there, corona, sick coach, etc. but every team has adversity. The last time we had back to back losing seasons was the 70's, Elway has doubled that prestigious honor over the last 4 years alone, those are the facts, or the results, and all the other feel good stuff a fan wants to tell themselves means nothing. The biggest issue within that though, the same problem areas today, are the same ones we had 4 years ago. And forget hindsight, every off-season it is blatantly obvious that they weren't fixed, and here we are again. Offensive line, the entire middle of the defense, and quarterback. Hey, at least we drafted heaps of fast guys
No. Those aren't the "facts". We have had 3 losing years in a row. 100% fact.

It's a mystery to me, too. Both Guards have had problems. Center is a rookie, but he is improving with each game. O-Line unit cohesion takes time especially with three new starters. Austin Schlottmann had to play the second half due to Dalton's injury. It is possible Risner won't play Sunday. We'll see.

I can see why Dotson was not the immediate starter....he had some plays that had me vs the Pats. Still he is much better than Wilk and I even more why it took an injury to Wilk to see the change. Starting to wonder if we giving too much credit to the experienced offensive coaching on this team.

At the end of last season and all through TC, many on this message board were bitterly complaining about Garrett Bolles demanding he be cut. Now he's the best O-Lineman of the starting five. Who should get credit for that besides Garrtett?

The lower performance of the guards has to be connected to Cushenberry's rookie struggles but he'll be alright, just like Jeudy, Lock et al. Growing pains.
This is one reason quite a few mocks and experts had us drafting a tackle in rounds one or two.
I think he's doing better for two reasons: first his resolve to be a better player which he announced at the beginning of the season. He's trying harder to improve, and I think some credit should be given for that. Secondly, the officiating has lightened up on offensive holding which has led to higher scoring (and more entertaining) games across the League and so he and other tackles can get away with more holding without drawing flags.
Two people offered articles about that in this thread:
