  • Common Opponents

Here's a look at how we matched up against common opponents:

    ......................DEN......................KC
    SD................37-8 W.............27-14 W
    at SD............37-13 W.............28-24 W
    Den at KC.....23-24 L..............24-23 W
    KC at Den.....45-27 W............27-45 L
    Oak...............31-10 W...........27-24 W
    at Oak...........22-8 W.............17-10 W
    Pitt................17-14 W...........41-20 W
    at Cincy ........30-10 W...........24-19 L
    at Minn..........20-28 L.............20-45 L
    at Balt...........6-26 L...............17-10 W
    Chi................10-19 L.............31-3 W
    Cle................23-20 W (OT)....41-20 W
    Det................20-16 W............45-17 W
    at GB............???????.............40-34 W (OT)
    _______________________________

    Totals..............9-4...................11-3

For all the crap I've heard about how the Chiefs are such a bad team, then why did we have a better record against common opponents? I know I'll hear the Jake Plummer excuse, but remember this: he was the QB in the losses to the Bears and Chiefs. If you take away the common games that Plummer missed, then your record would be 9-2 vs 10-2 for KC. Dont think we're as bad as you think we are. We won the AFC West and we'll still be around in 2 weeks, but Denver might not.

Thats why I used common opponents to guage how the tow teams match up. I didnt make the schedule, otherwise, I woulda had the Donkeys playing NE every week.

I give Shanarat some props. He's trying to lose this game so you'll get to play Indy for Wildcard Weekend. Indy barely beat the Texans, so it wouldnt surprise me to see the Donks beat them again. Theyre not so tough.

but if we played the same opponents Denver may have had another win & KC another lost or two... plus the way teams peak and slide and injuries throughout the year.

For example Atlanta easy pickens for 11 or 12 weeks, Vick comes back changes the complexion of the game. The Bengals were a tougher team as the season went on... you can always go common opppnets as a good rule of thumb.

with that logic, you coulda lost to Cincy as well.

that's what I am saying there is no logic in it. Playing a team in week one is different than in week 16,.

Even though we DID beat the bengals.

Dont you think I realize that? He woulda done that anyway, as they just said on CBS...he planned on NOT playing his starters today, but practiced them all week as if they were gonna play.

as attested by your 1-4 record there the last 5 years

and that was his intention all week. he might be a ratface but he's not a total idiot. he knew the odds would be better playing indy after killing them the last game they played, and it would be senseless to play his starters today, hence he doesnt want to win against a starting GB team.

we beat Baltimore AT baltimore. They wont win at KC. That'll get us into the AFC finals, hopefully against the Donkeys at Arrowhead.
