  • Day One:

This is the first day towards the healing process. so what do we keep doing wrong? how come the scoreboard isnt showing the top 5 offense and defense that we have. why are we inconsistent? why do we never get INT's and how do we fix that? We have to take a look and find out whats keeping us from bieng dominant liek we know we can be. I cant seem to put a finger on it. Can you?
dont let him pull dat move on ya, dont let him pull that move.......................oh no dats da move! TOUCHDOWN!!!

    I tried to warn ya.

I see our problems on the Defensive side of the ball. Granted the Defensive game plan was pretty weak, but we need a few players too. I think it would benefit us greatly to pick up a cornerback or two. Maybe a free-safety, although it's not the Broncos fault that Nick F. was injured. I would also like to see a more dominate defensive tackle on the Broncos. Hopefully Shanny will work his magic, again, in the draft.

I think that they need to hire a GM and let Shannahan concentrate on coaching. I am not criticizing Shannahan at all, it is very difficult these days to wear so many hats and do a good job at all of them.
Patriotic dissent is a luxury of those protected by better men than they.

I agree with you... Except in reverse order. Shanny continuously brings in talent, which highlights his GM abilities. But what I saw yesterday.... Was a horribly unmotivated team. <-- That falls on the coach. I know this will never happen, but I think it would be the best situation for the Broncos.

... But you are right. The responsiblity of coach and GM is far too much for one person to handle.

Daryl Gardener wants to return and a;lready apologized to shanny and the team, i think he should come back and be dominant. i dont hold grudges, if he said he was truly sorry, lets go from there. i mean why not, we are already paying him lots of maney and he CAN play dominating style defense and collapse the pocket.

I don't know if he is worth the trouble though. But if it hurts against the cap to let him go, then keep him around. Maybe he will change his ways. Just keep him away from pancake houses in the offseason.

                Good point...
Maybe we should shop for a new coach though and once we get a good coach (not an Al Davis "whoever I find", another experienced, talented coach), move shanahan to GM.

can't get rid of shanny just yet

has he made some bad play call decisions? yes. did he keep portis in too long in the cleveland game? yes. should he had played some of his starters in the GB game? maybe. but he kept the broncos afloat long enough to make the playoffs and for that much you can't get rid of him. as for bringing in players yeah he brought players on the offensive side we need more defensive playmakers. we haven't drafted a CB stud in years. we need a defensive pass rushing specialist to help trevor. we need studs on the defense that offenses have to prepare for we don't have that.if and when mobely and gold come they are great but don't know how they will come back. we need playmakers on defense, players who create turnovers. not a change in coaching.
Bronco fan 33 years and counting, GO BRONCOS!

"dont get int's, we are inconsisten," etc. But you cant seem to put your finger on it? The only answer with all the talent is your head coach. I cant believe your post. You all but said it yourself. Go back and read your post, then pretent its the chiefs and answer the question, you would have to agree its the head coach.

I have to play my Bronco Arrogance card here. I directly relate this to a few players also, maybe they will retire this offseason...

The Broncos have had a swagger for quite a few years now. But when they were having success, they were younger, and more eager. I think the Broncos still have that swagger, and are physically and mentally able to back it up. But maybe some of the players believe that the swagger alone is enough to win games. That could help explain the let down games the Broncos have had this year.

Also, some of the wins the Broncos had, could actually be masking problems instead of being an indication of greatness. Take the KC game in Denver for instance. Look how the Broncos took it to KC. But the game was even until the third quarter. Also, the Broncos took it to the worst defense in the league for two years running. Hardly a huge accomplishment.

I don't know though. Lots of people are really scratching their heads on this one today. The Colts are good, yeah yeah yeah, but are they this good? NO way.
Suck is NOT a bronco fan.

No its not the head coach. he hasnt done anything to be fired. the fact that we lose a couple games has nothing to do with him. he puts in the right plays, we just havent been executing when it matters. Shanny keeps us in the top 5 offense and defense, no other coach can say that, but injuries have been too tough to get over. the fact that we dont get enough turnovers might be due to the defensive backs coach or the players themselves just cant catch. shanny always puts them in good position but they have dropped INT's or let them slip through their hands into the other teams for a TD catch. a change in head coach isnt the answer, its gotta be the underground coaches like special teams or trainers

I did hear that Shanny is going to work with the LB's and DB's in the offseason on catching the ball. God knows we need it!
