  • Shanny has a poor track record with DB's

What does Shanny know about defensive backs?

    Look at his track record:

    Deltha O'Neal

    Willie Middlebrooks

    Dale Carter

    Nuff said

Please lets not forget one of the biggest bust of all.

Well for once, this is not just what Shanny thinks. Bailey is regarded by many to be one of the top two if not the very best in the league. So it’s a bit safer, plus he does not have any baggage to bring him down.

At the time so were BUCKLEY and CARTER considered top 3 at their position. That justifies nothing.

What about Herndon,Walls,Ferguson, And Kennedy. All pretty solid pro's.Hindsight is 20-20.If any of you think you could find a shut down corner picking 15 and up the last decade, then I'm sure Denver would hire you. Then we could all sit back and arm chair you to death about how stupid you are.

Obiously we thought highly enough of em to give them the contracts we did. And both were highly regarded by the league. Not till after they left us was there any questtions. To make a long argument short that is what happens when you get K.C.'s garbage.

Shanny has had a tough time finding corners. Well no shat sherlock. Corner is IMO the toughest position to predict in the league no question. Take Deltha for instance, he had superior physical ability, he did well in college... and he's turned out to be a sub par corner overall in the NFL.

Did you predict that when he was coming out of the draft? If you did I suspect you would have already had a job scouting for the Ravens or one of the other teams that has a knack for finding high quality DB's in the draft. Shannahans gift is obviously for finding offensive talent, not defensive. Which is why going after a top level proven CB for big money makes sense.... all coaches have their weaknesses, the Rats talent isn't finding DB's. With Bailey there isn't any guesswork, he's solid... it makes perfect sense.

Since you're a defensive genius I'd like to know which CB(s) you see coming out of this draft that will be top level performers in 5 years....

Well no matter what anyone thinks Bailey will be a Bronco and were going to need to support our team. I guess Id feel a tad better if I knew Mike Anderson would still be a Bronco. But back to Bailey Im sure hell be a shutdown CB.

Can't call him a bust for Denver. He only played one season for us and picked off 6 balls, returning one for TD.

Safties and CD compliment one another though. Look at how Ty Law has helped Tyrone Poole.
